I couldn't tell if Jerry West's wife was emotional over the tributes all game or crying about how bad we were playing basketball.

Too soon?
She looked young, I looked it up as she was his 2nd wife, she was born the year he graduated from West Virgina. If what I read was right she was a Lakergirl....

Who's being the Adult now?
I was being sarcastic? We can’t laugh after a loss?

We are 15-2 and will still be in the top 5 and a projected 1 seed come Monday. We played (I hope) worst game of the season. By far our worst game of the season.

Regroup. Move on. Start a new win streak.

And yeah, they can address that in practice. Doesn't ******* excuse **** officiating. Physical play and swallowing the whistle can have a huge impact on how an offense operates

Maybe if the officials weren't so ******, we could have won. Maybe if we hit a few more threes we would have won. Maybe if both were true, we would have won by a comfortable margin.
Or maybe shoot the ball better and take better control of the ball would had resulted in a win.

Did the officials have an impact in the game? Of course. But the team played like crap today. Let’s just be honest with ourselves. Teams don’t win games going 1-17 from behind the arc and having the ball stolen 14 times. That’s why they lost, not officiating

Hey man, I thought the refs missed some calls, for sure. Happens every game. Same with the Kansas game, same with the Texas Tech game.

Every game and even separate threads complain and blame losses or close wins on the refs. Doesn’t matter if it’s 30 pages, 50 pages, 70 pages, every single thread had of it is complaining about the refs. It’s so annoying when you go the thread to actually talk about the game and what os happening and it’s ref talk.

It’s also the same posters. Probably never played a minute of competitive sports in their life.

I made a simple post about us not playing well today and that it wasn’t the refs fault and now I have more quote notifications telling me I’m dumb than I have ever seen before.
I think the pushback you’re getting is:

1) Literally every thread ever has fans complaining about refs. In the history of sports. You have the power to literally just Block/Ignore those that you feel fall into that bucket of “annoying fan that always blames the refs and probably never actually played competitively”. It will take you 2.7 seconds to complete this task. So yeah, knowing that you could very easily do this but instead you find it important to flood the thread (the same thread you want to be focused on game-talk) with anti-ref-complainer talk - is very annoying. We get it - you don’t think the refs influence how teams play.

2. The refs very clearly influenced HOW both teams had to play today. Iowa State didn’t respond to it as well as WVA did. Many things can be and are true at the same time.

Has anyone else noticed that Gilbert has really taken a step back and it’s been CuJo that we need to take over or it’s too close? Gilbert needs to really step up and take the pressure off of CuJo. CuJo will get more open looks if Gilbert starts hitting shots.
I've been wondering if he's injured or something. Looking at his game log I can't really find a "bad" game, statistically, it's more just how he's moving/playing, he just doesn't look quite right.

Yep. When was the last Big 12 champ undefeated in conference play? I think Kansas did it once in the early 2000s and that’s it.
Kansas went 17-1 in 2019-20. That was the best mark I remember. Definitely think KU wins the championship that year if not for covid.

And they still had a chance at a Q1A win while playing terribly.

Iowa game was bad and the offense looks like a grind for him.

He was limping a touch maybe a week or two ago.
