Crazy how excited I used to get for Iowa State in Bowl games. The way the system is now, I am just not excited about the bowl game. I am going to watch and hope we win, just does not seem like bowl season anymore with all the bowls and the playoffs and all of that.

Many reasons that it was exciting for ISU to go to a bowl was because it didn't happen very often and then as bowls expanded over 20 years ago you could officially be average and make a bowl.

That’s for basketball. I believe football officials do have affiliations, since the schedule allows for those guys to do basically one game a week.
