I actually think Iowa State should have thrown the ball around more in the 2nd half. IIRC Jantz threw for over 150 yards in the 1st half, and it seemed Iowa was having troubles stopping your short passing attack. In the second half, you went almost exclusively to the zone read, and had very limited success with it.

The game reeked of a throw back to the mccarney era.
We were obviously the better team on the field Saturday. Yet, we stop ourselves with dumb turnovers, and allow them to stay in the game.
Then we play the second half to try to get the game over with before we have to make any difficult decisions.
We got lucky, that they are really really bad. They have little athleticism anywhere on the field, and their receivers can't catch the ball.
That was not an effort that is going to get this team over the 6 win rut. But the good news is that CPR is able to win these games, whereas mac always found a way to lose them.
