Another nice podcast. I was looking forward to A.J. Klein, but only because you teased it. I would have been just as excited if you had teased Babb.

P.S. I also recommend the 3-meat platter, but try the sausage instead of the turkey. It is fantastic.

Well this is one I won't miss. Something to listen to while waiting for the teenagers to get home for the night.

Excellent interview! And you are right, Chris, Cyclone Nation still has difficulty getting over that loss to the Buc...... (cannot finish that word). The tourney was set up well for us that year.

Chris, great job. We are very fortunate to have a professional broadcaster and excellent interviewer bringing awesome content for FREE to an ISU fan site. Congrats on the 30,000+ downloads on the Prohm & Campbell podcasts. Potential sponsors take note, this site delivers!

Babb and I had a nice moment at the Liquor Store by West Town pub once.

I hand a 12er of Summer Shandy and he looked back at me and said, "Good beer." And I said, "I think so." I was lost in eyes. Gosh...

Also,

What happened too "Just ******* on Dogs, a Conversation w/C-Dub"?

Babb loved interacting with the students, heard several tales from son, niece, and nephew who were all at ISU for his last year.

And yea, if this old lady was gonna have a creepy old lady crush, it would be Chris Babb.

I'm jealous. I kind of fell in love with him a little more just by imagining myself in your place in this story.

Wait. He had the faux hawk right?

I always wondered if the players/staff talked about redshirting Diante. That would've been a tough first year for Hoiberg trotting out a team that would've won probably 12 games but it would've paid huge dividends for both parties in 2011-12

I thought that was the most interesting part of the interview. Would have been a fascinating move by Hoiberg. Hard to explain it to the other guys on his first team but you're right about it paying off the next year. ISU could have been in the Final Four.

Would they have had any bench if they'd red-shirted Diante? Assuming the rest of the roster didn't change, would they have shifted Jake Anderson over to PG (I believe that's what he'd played at No. Illinois)? Started a RS Freshman Bubu? I mean, that 11-12 team would have been terrifying with Garrett and Royce as co-playmakers, but I'm not sure we would have even been fielding a Patriot League level team in 10-11.

Yeah how do you explain that to the other guys? Basically just forfeiting the season, sorry. :twitcy:

Kind of funny how early in the podcast he indicated he is in touch with his former teammates, then later it turns out he's not so much in touch with Royce.
