While getting groceries, I was looking to grab a pack of Ames Lager and Blood Round for the weekend. I noticed in the North Ankeny beer section, there was no West O at all on stock. I asked the assistant manager why they didn’t carry any West O beer and he said lack of sales. For it being a Fareway very close to Ames, I am disappointed that they did not have any Ames Lager or Blood Round, but did have plenty of Swarm. I’m not saying people should boycott that Fareway, but I will certainly be buying my groceries elsewhere.

@brentblum @ChrisMWilliams any chance you have any contacts at Fareway corporate to see if they can get this resolved and get Ames Lager and Blood Round stocked again at the North Ankeny Fareway? For as big of a sponsor as Fareway is to Iowa State, the people I spoke to at the store seemed pretty unwilling to order from West O

I've never been inside but there's that new Sip and Burn Liquor store right around the corner on 36th. Maybe check there.

They had it well stocked at the Hyvee just down the street. I generally prefer to shop at Fareway over Hyvee, but if they’re unwilling to stock West O beers, I’ll be fine going to Hyvee

I've purchased it from there plenty of times. Weird they don't carry it anymore

Appreciate you letting us know. Will definitely try to get this fixed. Very frustrating and it’s almost always just an individual managers decision when this happens.

I get Climbing Kites from a Fareway in a town of 4,000 people in NEIA.

You could not have made this make sense to 16 year old me.
Still doesn’t make sense to current day me when they’re the only grocery store around that still closes on Sundays.

I actually don't mind that I was a little disappointed when Aldi's caved and opened Sundays a while back. Most folks can find a way to buy their groceries on the other 6 days especially with the on line shopping thing.
