One great gift I got a few years ago was a subscription to a Beer of the Month Club. They shipped 3 bottles of 4 different beers to my house once a month for sixth months.

I got myself a set of these a couple years ago. They were neat for a couple weeks, but then I kinda lost interest. Most likely since I don't sip on whiskey / buy good whiskey often enough.

Still would make a pretty cool gift though.

I have a set of those, but they are only useful if you sit at home and drink, most of the time I am somewhere else drinking.

Another cool novelty drinking thing to ask for is a set of ice spheres, there are bars here in DC that will give you drinks with them and they work great because it takes longer for the ice to melt and dilutes the drink less, I have set, but again only works well when you drink at home.
