in before fanboys come in.

I have the HTC One and like it a lot...but to be honest I probably wouldn't see much difference from any of the other brands flagship phones. I love the HTC One's speakers...and camera. I am sure I would be just as happy with another company's flagship though. Just was surprised a bit by the negative tone of this review.

I have a Droid DNA, but have heard great things about HTC one. Honestly, I was always a little disappointed by the Nexus line. Samsung is where it's at though it seems. I'd really like the new note phone and tablet.

also look at the related articles, this guy really likes One.

Nexus phones as of late have been the definition of ALMOST. I also have a DNA and like it a lot, but I would love stock Android without needing to put roms on. My friend has a Nexus 4, and it's amazing how much faster and more fluid stock android is. Not that Sense 5 is bad, but it lacks the fluidity of stock. A G2 with Kitkat would have been better.

Yeah...he does love the One for sure. Most of my family has Samsung phones and seem satisfied. I have liked HTC in the past and this was the last time I was going to go with HTC...but the One has me thinking I would go with HTC again when the time comes (if they still exist)! Also...HTC already announced that the One will be getting the KitKat update within 90 days...so that is cool.

If the nexus 5 was available on verizon, i'd buy it. Ive liked my Galaxy Nexus, aside from having battery issues, its been good to have an experience free of the HTC\Samsung skins. Just want a refresh on that concept really.

I'm going to make sure my next phone can work on multiple carriers even if I have to pay more. I'm tired of being tied to a carrier for 2 years and I'm tired of having their crap software attached.

I have not seen a phone that is pure android and unattached to a specific phone company. Does the software look and act basically the same?

The G2 is the best phone available right now from a hardware standpoint. For me, anything pure Android is the best option as far as software goes.

I've never owned one but it looks to me like the Nexus 5 is exactly that. Unlocked and able to work with multiple carriers (not verizon). Just sign up for a pre-pay plan and jam in one of their free SIM cards.

I have the HTC One and absolutely love it. What sets it apart is the build quality - it just feels like a high quality phone. There are several great phones out there that are fast, have a great screen, and have all the bells and whistles, but I don't think many match the build of the HTC One (the one exception is probably the iPhone, but that's like comparing apples to oranges).

I've never had a Nexus but I am seriously considering this one or the HTC One. I have the Galaxy S4 and it will be my last Samsung. I hate Samsung's TouchWiz, HTC's Sense is much better and the build of HTC phones is solid. They just seem to fit in my hand better. That and Samsung is trying to be the 'corporate' phone by locking everything down. If I wanted that I'd get a Blackberry... okay, not really.
