I'll stick to my earlier comments, but honestly, at this point, don't care. I just want to beat Texas. I'll be happy beating Texas with Po the teletubby on our helmets.

Hey - the players like it.
Single color logos are the best. Simple and clean.
So not liking something equates to hating everything? Only adding blue could have made it worse.I actually like the helmet. Some of you will hate anything...
Criticisms are valid, but to those outside of the ISU family few will have the gut punch reaction I'm seeing from many here. If you wanted the cyclone/twister/tornado back this is better than nothing and certainly it doesn't look embarrassing or unprofessional. Even with rebranding projects I've worked on where the company admitted the logo was horrible and hated...there's still automatic resistance to a well thought out improvement. I'm not saying this is an improvement or not over the old twister, just that even when it's an objective 100% improvement a large number of people still get emotional about it.
I mostly enjoy reading reactions of others in these uniform/logos threads but have to weigh in just a bit as a designer. I see both sides to the instant reaction here. Some of it is just nostalgia and familiarity for the old twister logo...but there is some valid criticism that the new mark lacks a certain dynamic motion the old one had. The simplified fan made update that floats around this site would reproduce better in small printing/embroidery and does have a little more implied motion.

I agree with you. But, if they are willing to change the logo, why not make it more appealing and end this debate forever.I mostly enjoy reading reactions of others in these uniform/logos threads but have to weigh in just a bit as a designer. I think he was kind of hinting at the fact that it's an impossible task. Your more appealing isn't my more appealing, etc. It's a little bland but more palatable nationally, is what I was taking from that post. I could be wrong, though.
Remember how our I-state logo was chosen. By voting! Why not do similar thing for the secondary logo as well so that we have 'more appealing' one. Surprises not always sweet!I think he was kind of hinting at the fact that it's an impossible task.
