Jamie hasn't put results on the field... but look at it objectively...

In the decisions that Pollard has made and based on his fiscal responsibilities required by him as an athletic administrator, what hasn't he done right? Like seriously, other than not having a crystal ball.

The GC hire was a home run, regardless whether it panned out. You can't blame Pollard for the results on the field.

Im not a huge basketball fan, but I believe McDermott was a very acceptable hire, and IMO still has a lot of potential. I remember when we hired him people were talking about how good we were going to be in 2011-2012. Somehow that was pushed up to 2008-2009...

I will admit, the fact that he did tear up during parts of that interview said alot about who Pollard is as a person. Some of you can sit there and say that he feels the pinch of his job being in jeopardy, but I dont buy it. I think he sincerely loves ISU and the community and this whole thing with Chizik cut him deeply. I think when he hired Chizik he saw qualities that he could relate to. A family man who had integrity and was going to do what he could to really help ISU. When Chizik shoved that stuff to the side in order to do for himself, Pollard, as with the rest of us, felt that we had been lied to. It broke his heart.

I feel this same way. If people are gonna dis on him for getting emotional, the hell with u all that think this way. This guy is fighting for US (the Cyclone Nation) and some of you just wanna beat him down cause this is "all his fault". Its not in his control what Chizik did. All Pollard can do is bring in coaches that he believes can get us over the hump. He did that when he hired Chizik. If attendance has been the highest in over 20 years and we brought in $20 million more, it sounds like everyone thought he was the one as well. I will support Pollard in his next pick for a head coach 100%.

I also think its funny that you people are not down for having Pollard on board, lets look at our major sports. Wrestling-ranked #2 in the country, Volleyball- better then its been in over 20 years, WBB-ranked #22 at the beginning of the year and went to the big dance last year, MBB and Football are not were we want them to be. But i bet over 60% of us if not more thought GC was going to get us where we needed to be for football. But he quit on us and I want all you that dont like pollard hiring GC to answer this for me, how could this be predicted.

And now people wanna post about, its not about having money and new practice facilities. So what, you guys want them practiicing on the street, lifting weights with high schoolers? How are you gonna have a Big 12 program without the facilities to do it. Granted its not all about making money but that is part of what a university has to do.

Let's also look at women's gymnastics. Great coach and team, close to the top and looking to stay there. Coach and JP can't agree on salary and improvements. She's gone. (Okay, a little tongue in cheek because the sport isn't a hotbed of fan support here, but still.)

He tells us what we want to hear. Plain and simple. I will agree that with the Chizik hiring we will able to increase coaches' salaries, that's the norm in almost every coaching regime that has turnover. Increasing the budget from ticket sales, etc. due to the Chizik buzz was good as well. But he screwed up and now his back is against the wall....he has to make a hire that is going to define his tenure here. However...if I see the guy cry one more time...geez. He's like the **** Vermeil of ADs.

No tears over losing Gene. He had to make the business decision.:skeptical:

Gene's Abode, 4 Dec: For Sale sign being dusted off and wheeled out into the garage in Ames Bungalow. SUV wheeels away in a huff. "JP, I need to go recruit in Memphis and Alabama for some more oline studs.":notworthy:

Gene, P.M. 11 Dec: "I am not going to move. I am not going to move. My interview sucked. They asked me if I could win five in one year. I told them now about two years?"
JP: "Ok, we will see you back at the homeshed."

Gene, a.m. 12 Dec: "I am looking at this great running back. See you back at the Jack soon."
JP: "Okay, hope you are doing a good job recruiting.":dull:

J P pm 12 Dec: "Geez, did his cell phone battery run out."
Gene: "Hi, leave a message. I am indisposed due to counting my money. See ya Sunday. Don't wait up.":wideeyed:

J P pm 12 Dec: " Gene is being considered for the Big One. We will be looking at Plan B with $750k. "

ESPN Media Person Howdy Doody a. m. 13 Dec: "Gene Cjhizzilk,sd;' has just been announced as new Auburn coach. A real surprise since fans are boycotting the airport.:daydreaming:

J P a.m. 13 Dec: "The Chiz is not going to coach the Clones. He has went for the money. He is taking his 2009 dream job."

Gene p.m. 13 Dec: " This is my dream job, to come bnack to the place I blew out of town before. I love it and the money. I am getting closer to KFc all the time in salary. What a wonderful spot with the states number two team.":mask:

Gene p.m. 14 Dec: "Clones, This is tough love. I am leaving for greener pastures. Did anyone see my Auburn shorts in their locker? Hope you win more next year. Bye. I am headed for warmer parts, boys."

Gene p.m. 15 Dec: "Ho Ho Ho. There is a Santa Claus and he leaves in Alabama, Jayboy. ":biglaugh:

Drive4cy has always respect Pollard. Drive4cy just wishes the results on the field would improve. This probably is a make or break hire for JP. He's got some good candidates from the sounds of things. I feel like he'll get it right but if he doesn't, well ouch for us.

Cyclonepride approves of this post. Cyclonepride has always respected Pollard as well. Cyclonepride also enjoys posting in third person.

JP is doing a great job. Sometimes people like Gene lie to everyone. We will overcome soon.
