Hope we can get this to stick although I will agree that it doesn't seem likely. Anytime you announce that you will still listen to school at the same time as committing it probably doesn't mean good things. His tape is awesome so maybe everyone will late until really late or we start winning some football games in order to keep him

Iowa has lower academic standards because the big ten allows partial qualifiers. Iowa fans claim they limit the number at Iowa but I have yet to see that in writing and have asked where I can find that many times.

This was more true in the past. Now the ncaa must guve waivers for partials so they are more behind the scenes now. But I had a good friend that wanted to go to ISU but couldn't as a partial aND instead went to Iowa. He got screwed and was given bad advice at Iowa on classes he needed which would have made him have to sit out a second year so he transferred to FCS.

Okay, gonna throw out the earliest "He gone" in history. :)

If I were him I'd take advantage of recruiting trips and I wouldn't count him out if he takes advantage of that at all. I'm sure he'll also make a few games in Ames this fall and he should be blown away by the atmosphere (at least compared to Iowa City). He'll love the staff and I have confidence in CMC to build a great relationship and close the deal.

I have not heard of this change requiring a waiver. I wonder why the big ten still doesn't limit them then?

In other words there must still be a benefit to not having a rule for them. The big 12 has had a rule since the beginning of the conference. See Nebraska's fall.

For example one of their dends this year was supposedly a single digit guy on the act. Everybody said there was no way he could go dI. Then he magically got in at Iowa.

Trying to not get too excited about this kid because of that story and what just happened with Catalina.

Despite his verbal commit, Vance said he still would listen to other schools if they are interested in him.

Sounds solid.

This is a a very good pick up in battle for Iowa kids. KF got a head start in 2017 but CMC is right behind now..Iowa wil come on strong for this kid befor it's all said and done...in CMC I trust.

It's really huge. We haven't gotten into CR Washington in 30-40 years for a FB recruit until last year--the lineman that is currently redshirting.

CR Wash has had a severe Hawkeye bias among their athletic staff for decades, as well as in their school administration

great to establish a pipeline there

He appears to be better than Von Miller right now as a high school junior.

Very glad to have him

He didn't announce that at all. The Gazette writer added that comment in at the end and you have no idea how the conversation went to come up with that. It is the Gazette, by the way. If they had a good quote they would have used it.

Then the rumor of a single digit ACT was incorrect.

Lol. And what atmosphere might that be? Running out of an inflatable helmet with a smoke machine? Playing an obnoxious siren twenty times a game? Chanting after every first down like a high school team? You can't be serious, man.

Do we have to do this every thread?

Also any school who's biggest tradition is lifting an imaginary burrito in the air has no room to talk. lol

I suppose its appealing to play a garbage schedule, have a miracle season once every 10 years and then get exposed as the fraud team that you are when you actually play teams with a pulse.

I hope that is the case. Just seemed weird to have that in the same article. Really like the look of this kid.
