Thanks to FARMERCLONE for the lead on this newer recruit –– Here's his most recent post:
THE BACK FORTY
Farmer had this to say:
One new name that has surfaced is Canadian SG Nick Stauskas. He is currently in the states at a prep school and is a Rivals top 150 prospect. He appears to be the type of player Fred wants, one that can shoot the lights out. If we can get him, he would come in and try to help replace Scott and Chris Allen.

Here's what I've dug up on Nick
Nick Stauskas: Canadian guard is a silky shooter but also loves to get to the hoop. Might not be the best athlete but knows how to play the game and score the basketball. Has a pretty good handle for a 6'6" guy. He was an early lean to Michigan, but has since opened up his recruiting and has lots of offers - Wake Forest, Iowa State, Stanford, Butler, Michigan. He has LOTS of interest from other schools.

Here's a nice little interview and vid of him from BOX OF M.E.S.S.

Nice highlight real:

One final note: Kid has said he would LOVE to play for coach K. So if he blows up that much... kiss him goodbye. Right now he's top 150 (latest I've seen is 106), so maybe he doesn't get too much higher before signing. He wants to play where they shoot the 3 so he would fit our system beautifully. But of course, that's a lot of other teams too.

Kid looks good. Would be nice to get him, but let me know if ISU even has a chance with this kid before I bite.

Looks like Mike Miller. Very quick, excellent shooting, explosiveness, and good ball handling.

I can see why big time program wants him.

other Canadians we may be involved with are Nazareth Long, backup PG for Findlay Prep in Las Vegas and Tyler Ennis . Ennis play guard for St Benedicts Prep in New Jersey, same school as Phil Nolan.

If we can get him... wow

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets some better offers

Good looking prospect. Would rather see him at ISU than Korie Lucious.

The canned ooooohhhh's and ahhhhhhhh's were a but much, as was the canned dribbles and swishes. The kid is gonna get his pocket picked like crazy if he tries to cross over too many people like that in college.

AGREED, I could put to together a compilation of me playing pick up ball against guys who play no defense that would be set to good music and cut half way decent that would make me look this good.....and I suck.

so......I wouldn't get to excited about this guy from just watching a video. No perspective here. I TRUST FRED TO ASSESS TALENT. not some stupid video.

I hope he is serious about us. Found this brief video on Youtube. Pretty sick crossover.

Most all HSer's would get their pocket picked by D1 players. Question is, is it fixable (yes) and does he have the potential to be a worthy D1 talent?

Another question would be, will there ever be a recruit that some people will be happy about? It seems as if every possible recruit is below the standards set by some posters. If you feel this way why even look at these "stupid videos with their canned crossovers". It is clear that the even Dwight Howard or King James would have been found wanting.

Yup. If they are not NBA ready, they are not worth it.

my favorite HS prospect criticism:
"He's too skinny, not physical enough. Why don't we recruit guys who are 255 lbs?" Yeah? No ****. He's in HS. He's 17. and 6'-8". Duh.

We can be down with this kid because he is a foriegn player. If he was from Iowa he would be just a slow white kid. However, He is from a different country so we want him.
