This smells like a 'settle for' hire where the time line was accelerated by the dumpster fire of a football program. They want to get the search (plea) for Riley's replacement started before the next 30+ point loss.

Or they really really want Leach, and they're doing everything they can to get him ...

Still don't see it happening though

Previously at Oregon. Wonder if that will also bring up Chip Kelly's name even though he didn't necessarily work for him?

I can't believe that such a "deep and talented pool" would result in a 66 year old with a mainly PAC 12 background would be the first choice for a BIG school.

This is a VERY underwhelming hire. Nebby fans can't be too happy.

He was Oregon AD from 1995-2007, when they became legit and were up there in Pac-12 each year with USC/Pete Carroll. So not totally like WSU was his highest spot.

The new WSU president supposedly does not care at all about athletics. So senior athletic administrators and coaches may want to leave. But just don't see Leach to Nebraska. He could do so much better.
