Every fanbase has its dip *****. There are some really positive statements wishing him and his family the best and those are the fans I care about at Murray State.

I guess I could kinda empathize with em. They've had 3 talented coaches leave now. Much akin to us. 2 to the Bulls and one to Natty Light.

Good thing negative comments like that would NEVER happen on this board.

On a different note, anybody notice Prohm's tie was the wrong shade of red.
Not to sure about the hire now :)

Most of them are Murray State alums. Which means they all root for Kentucky unless Murray state is good. Kind of like Iowa and UNI

Well for any Bulls fans checking out our boards, I have zero respect for your front office.

As a lifelong Bulls/NBA fan and living in Chicago the past 14 years, that thread is nothing we haven't exactly duplicated in the past few months regarding some place else and a superior league.

***edit...reading through it a little more carefully the fact that you could replace Prohm with Fred, Big 12 with NBA, and ISU with Bulls...it is identical to Cyclone Fanatic, which is a GREAT thing. They loved this guy exactly like we loved CFH, at least as a coach since they didn't have the local legend player thing.

Loved him to the point of saying irrational/ignorant things about ISU/Ames/Big 12 the same way many of us have been about Bulls/Chicago/NBA.

"Again, it isn't about money. Her family is here. Is there a number that can overcome that with your first newborn and a husband who travels 6 months a year? Probably, but you gotta weigh the pros and cons carefully. It isnt a lottery ticket."

If that isn't an exact carbon copy of Cyclone Fanatic I don't know what is...heck we have posts like that about Otz in addition to CFH.

Lots of big12 bottom feeders comments.. If you banish the morgan/mcdermott years, the conference titles look like this:

SeasonRegular season champion (record)Postseason champion
1996-97Kansas (15–1)Kansas
1997-98Kansas (15–1)Kansas
1998-99Texas (13–3)Kansas
1999-00Iowa State (14–2)Iowa State
2000-01Iowa State (13–3)Oklahoma
2001-02Kansas (16–0)Oklahoma

2012-13Kansas
Kansas State (14–4)

With my selective memory, Iowa State shows up more than any school outside of kansas

I just did some quick math, even if you factor in the McD dark ages, we are still averaging out as a middle-of-the-road Big 12 team (7th place average, most of those years in a 12 team league), not a bottom feeder.

Totally. Like I said, I sympathize. I guess I just expected if you are a dedicated enough college basketball fan to post on the message board of a Ohio Valley team, they'd have more perspective on the relative merits of either job.

We're the #2 team in Big 12 basketball history when it comes to winning conference hardware...but that gap between 1 and 2 is way bigger than anybody but Kansas would like.

Are you talking about at the press conference? If so, he was literally wearing an ISU tie..

Interesting read. They liked their coach and didn't want him to leave. I can understand that. As for the comments about ISU / Ames / Iowa, no different than comments I read from Iowa Staters about other places far and wide.
