For reals, Fox 9 is doing a story on this tonight.

okay, not sure why only half the video is showing. Looking more it looks like this aired on Friday.

I had that happen on a video I tried to post a while back (that swimming in the snow thing). I tried to bring it over from Facebook. Is that where you picked up THIS video?

So their players intentionally hurt Jack, and he dies from those injuries, and it's our fault? Stay classy Minnesota

Seems silly. But until 1997, Iowa state didn't want to name the stadium after him. And he was forgotten here as well.

Why don't you try not being a total **** and not drag your damn politics into this.

Wasn't digging democrats, was just making a point that Minnesotans tend to represent themselves as people wouldn't harm anyone. Early 1900's was a complete different time though, so I get that. However it's funny the crappy comments from people here.

But....but....but....Minnesotan's care about people, they're "Minnesota Nice". Why do you think they have voted blue for so long???:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Don't know what's worse. Thinking that bringing politics into a completely normal thread was a good idea or starting a sentence with 'But, but, but'.

It's a hard choice really, both just absolutely terrible.

Can't tell you how fired up I get when I see Jack's story being shared by even more people! Be sure to catch the ultra-rare picture of Jack as a kid at 2:04 in the video! In addition to my own work featured, here are some further relevant links about the other people involved:

John Rosengren is the author of the SBNation feature piece as seen here:

Steve Jones is the father of a CF member and his book is at the ISU Bookstore among many other choices. Don't be dissuaded by the elementary reading level, there's a lot of good research in it that isn't found elsewhere:

Bob Patrin is a Minnesota historian who also owns the original Floyd of Rosedale trophy. A fascinating story about it here:

Tom Kroeschell also did the Cyclones.TV documentary on Jack:

The more people telling his story, the better! There's more exciting stuff about Jack coming out in the future...

They mention Hollywood at the end of the story. I scares me to think what they would come up with being that there just doesn't seem to be enough information to fill 90-100 minutes.

Then you fill those minutes with artistic license. Do you think "Remember the Titans" is a 100% accurate depiction of what actually happened? A Hollywood blockbuster about Jack Trice (if done correctly) could do more for Iowa State than any bowl game or tournament victory ever has.

It's a story that needs to be told. Starting with educating ignorant tavern haks who have no idea. Trust me, I've met them. Who's working on the screenplay?

I don't know, I think it could work. I think his early life is interesting. His mom moving him to Cleveland. A coach wanting him to come to Iowa state. Plus I think the fight to name the stadium after him is interesting--although not that flattering to Iowa state.

There is forsure a way you could make a 90 minute movie on his life. There will have to be some fluff to really sell it on a national stage successfully, I think. But I would love to see it on the screens, even if it was just an indie film.

It would essentially be the movie The Express, but more focused on what the implications of what he was doing impacted off the field, and everything surrounding that, and not so much on the football. But I think it could be a good flick, if done right.
