Playoff experience does not make one bit of difference. I have proof. Go back and look at all of the National Champion basketball teams over the past 10 years. How many repeated? Same with the World Series and Super Bowl. If the playoff experienced mattered so much there would be way more repeat teams. Aaron Rodgers had no Super Bowl experience. Big Ben did. Big Ben Lost.
I don't know if this fits in this, but,
"So and So makes plays"... Really, I thought everyone on the field was making plays. Otherwise they would be just standing there.
Like I said earlier, playoff experience is not a be-all, end-all. But it DOES make a difference.
While there may not be a lot of repeat champions, almost all champions have playoff experience prior to that season. I mean look at the teams that make the NCAA tournament every year. Do you think that Kansas and Duke are the only teams with tourney experience? Of course not, lots of teams have that experience, and the majority of the time, the team that wins it all has players with prior experience.
It's not always just about talent. Otherwise Kentucky would have won it all last year, the Yankees would have at least 5 more WS titles, and Tiger would have broken Jack's record years ago.
Again, postseason/tourney experience DOES matter, even if it's not always the deciding factor. But between teams of equal talent, and one has playoff experience and the other one doesn't, more often than not the team with the experience wins.
Rodgers won the Super Bowl over Big Ben because he's a much better quarterback. There is some leeway in that balance between talent and experience.
