Most hated Big 8 or Big 12 players ever

This was my favorite single moment of all time at Hilton. Missouri was the overwhelming heavyweight of the Big 8 at that time. After the game when Norm Stewart was asked about Johnny being clear out at the free throw line with the game in progress sais something like "I thought Johnny was open for a jumper but he didn't take it." I've always thought those games with Missouri were the most intense ever that I've seen in person, after Orr got things going and the games were competitive.

Those of us old enough to remember Steve Stepanovich have to think he was the most hated player in Hilton history. Good times!

Jerrod Haase, Sherron Collins, Paul Pierce, Kirk Hinrich, Kenny Gregory, Eric Chenowith, DREW GOODEN, Eduardo Najera, Askia Jones, Jason Klotz, Cole Aldrich, Renzi Stone, Aaron Miles, John Potter (played at OSU in early 90's--intentionally fouled Doug Collins on a dunk attempt), Greg Ostertag, Longar Longar, Aaron Schwartzendruber, Jason Yanish, Shawn Rhoades (K-State), Steve Woodbury, and of course the most overrated player--Jacque Vaughn.

I can't believe Ryan "Whiner" Minor isn't getting more mention. That guy was an enormous tool. He was always complaining to the officials about getting fouled, and then would pull some dirty **** on the other end of the floor.

Most memorable "Minor Moment" had to be in 1994 at Hilton on senior night. OU was up big all game, but near the end Hoiberg led a major comeback to get us back in the game. The crowd was going nuts and it was clearly getting to Minor and OU. We were down two with the ball and about four seconds to go. Hoiberg took a deep three which missed and time expired. Minor and fellow OU punk Deon Barns ran over to the student section with huge grins and both middle fingers extended. It was total douchery and the crowed was ******! I remember security had to hold a few people back.

I didn't feel bad when several years later someone stole Minor's collage World Series ring from his apartment. Serves that A-hole right.

Least favorite coach has to be Roy Williams, but honorable mentions must be awarded to Danny Nee at Nebraska and Calvan Sampson at OU. Both were first rate cheaters.

There were a few opposing players which I really wanted to hate, but couldn't help but like. I always thought Paul Pierce was a great player even though he played for my least favorite team. I also had a lot of respect for Chauncy Billups; he was a total gamer and turned down some huge schools to play for the hometown team. Anyone else have some reluctant favorites out there?

I wonder what ISU players are on other schools list. I’m sure Pratt, Homan, and Eustachy, have to be hate favorites. I could see Stinson on there too…guy talked a lot of trash and made a lot of clutch shots, I’m sure Kansas fans at least must despise him.

I would add Pollard from Kansas - he was a real A-Hole, I could not stand him. ISU kicked KU's arse everytime we played them then so maybe he isn't that much disliked. Boschee is the only one on this list that I have don't like.

Scott Pollard's career record against ISU: 8-3 with one overtime loss and one one point loss.

Average margin in eleven career games against ISU: +9.63

Your first post is a necrobump of a thread that's over 2 years old?

As I kid, I hated most of the Jayhawks, especially the ones from Iowa (LaFrentz, Collison, Hinrich). Bryant Big Country Reeves was a pain in the ***, as were Eduardo Najera and Tyronn Lue.

More recently, I hated Richard Roby and Corey Higgins from Colorado; there's no way Colorado should have players that good and monkey stomp us. That's what I remember the most about the McValley years...getting monkey stomped by friggin Colorado.

Something tells me Scott Pollard was Googling himself to remember about how awesome he used to be and ran across this thread. Thanks for chiming in Scott.

Wasn't Pollard the KU dude that painted his fingernails?

If I were awesome at sports, and I am very close to a 20 inch vertical, I wouldnt mind choosing boulder for a place to play in college. With the right coaches you could recruit the hell out of that place, as seen in the past.

Biased opinion, given your present location? It's a nice place, but if that's all that mattered to recruits, Syracuse should be a doormat and Miami should dominate the ACC.

Was it Chris Logan from NE that tried to pick a fight with Hornacek, and then Grayer stepped in and took care of business?
