I'll read what people say and sometimes if it catches my eye as something I would question, I might look at their post count.

But if it's your 2nd post and you are calling out someone who is on here all the time, that doesn't go over so well.

I do think if you have given good insight or info in that past that will lead to cred in the future. No reason to question everyone first post though.

It seems that ever since cyclonefanatic.com was on the news there has been an influx of "new posters" on this board. There is also an abundant other college fans from other colleges that come here and post credible stories and happenings from their respective school.

What I have seen a lot lately is new posters come on here make what I think is a fairly legit post and get downgraded by other posters just because they have 1, 2, or 3 posts. You don't have to live on this site and worship it and have a large amount of posts to have credibility I believe.

Has anyone else noticed this and do you think about more posts=more credibility?

I know there are some people that come on and are just plain stupid in their first posts but for every stupid ignorant new poster there are 4-5 good posters that are new also

Discuss...:biglaugh: Just had to throw that discuss in there from a long thread ago lol

It depends. I try to recognize the good first posts. The others I guess I recognize, too, but in a different way.

CF is a big tent. Even bigger after a wave of walking tacos at Hilton:yes:

Short answer, NO. Long answer is that this message board is no different from any other one out there. Over time dominant personalities emerge. People begin to get comfortable with a "rumor" once "X" has commented on it.

Just take it all with a grain of salt. You will usually see that it is not the uber-posters smacking down a new poster. It is the wanna-be climbers...

For me I don't post all that much. I more like to lurk and read what others are saying. I should post more because thanks to all the time I have spent running various Cyclone Clubs I actually do have some connections. But, I am getting older now and don't feel the need to annoy the people I know for "insider" information, or feel validated by being the first to post something on a message board. It will all come out eventually anyway... But, for those who do I understand. In the OLD FansOnly message board days I was one of the insiders posting 100 times a day. But, my day has passed. It is up to you youngsters now....

If it matters, I sometimes give CF the cred when I'm talking 'Clones out side of here! But most of the time I just throw out the idea as if it was mine.
