i heard there was a lot of flooding in Boone and Story county this morning, anymore in Ames? I heard a rumor that there was over a foot of water over I-35 today, any truth to this?

I saw some pictures from last weekend and couldn't believe it. I can't remember water being over Duff that bad or the Rec having quite that much water in their lots!

They're saying we could see some more flooding this week if the rain comes down like it's supposed to. The rivers are at their banks again in Ames, and the creeks that drain the golf course by UV have backed up.

Any more rain, and we'll probably see at least the same amount of water as last weekend.

I drove up it this morning and down it this afternoon. Not nearly as close as it was last Friday.

Need to check the sources on the I-35

I love the media.

Anyways, I forget which lake they were talking about, but it's 20 feet below '93 levels right now - and they're expecting it to get a little higher after this week.

They're also contemplating opening the Red Lake flood gates.

The media, well KCCI, reported that the Raccoon River in Ames was near record levels last Friday. Which is odd considering it flows through Jefferson on down to DSM.

Way to know your rivers there KCCI...

Similar to when Cynthia Fodor said there was flooding on Main Street in Ames. The place I work at is on Main Street and I was waiting for that wall of water to come rushing down the street. KCCI then showed a shot of Duff Ave.

But really happened was Valley beat Roosevelt and they messed it up twice. Not sure who you can do that either.
