Anyone else keeping a close eye on the Missouri Valley Tournament?

Grew up a big Drake fan, so I've been watching Evansville - Illinois State pretty closely. Entertaining and kind of a sloppy game.

I found Drake’s MVC tournament draw odd/interesting. Drake went 4-4 against the bottom half of the bracket: ISUr, Eville, SIU, UNI

If they could’ve switched places with Loyola, they are 8-0 against the rest of the top half of the bracket: Valpo, ISUb, MoSt, Bradley.

Drake really matches up poorly with both Loyola and ISUr, but it would be fun if they could pull off the tournament championship and get the autobid. They’d have been an actual dangerous team to knock someone off in the NCAAs if they would’ve have Norton healthy the whole season.

Small sample size, but it seems DeVries understands how to be successful in the Valley.

They definitely didn't get the good end of the draw, and a win in any one of there like four or so close games would have rectified that. Though, I think they have what it takes to beat each of those teams. It just takes a good game, which gets more difficult after losing Wilkins.

I think with Illinois State having to use its stars for extended minutes tonight, Drake is in a better spot, but it's going to be a tough tough game.

The MVC is even more unpredictable than the Big 12. I could see just about any Valley team making it to the finals. Loyola was okay last year, but it wasn't until the Valley tournament that they put it together.

They were 25-5 during the regular season with a win at Florida when they were ranked 5th. They went 15-3 in conference, and won 14 games in a row before losing to Michigan.

Drake-UNI has been a pretty fun game so far. Cheering hard for Drake, playing with only 6 scholly players. It's amazing what DeVries has done with that roster.

Did we want this Green kid on UNI at one point? This is my first time watching them this season, but he's got a pretty smooth game. I don't follow recruiting religiously like some.
