When lived in Scottsdale he used to hang out at Don and Charlies Steak House. It was a huge sports place with the craziest collection of sports stuff I have ever seen. He would pull up on his Harley Davidson. Always said hi to everyone and everyone that spoke with him had nothing but great things to say about him. He would say hi to me every time I saw him. Hopefully they burry him in the last row of the cemetary.

Sad, sad day for me as a baseball and BREWERS fan. Loved his "Get up, get up, get outta here, and GONE" whenever the Brewers hit a homer! HE WILL BE MISSED!
Same, granted that the last few years his call has been get up, get up, get outta here, caught in front of the warning track! That eye surgery didn't quite fix the depth perception lmao.

The biggest thrill a ballplayer can have is when your son takes after you. That happened when my Bobby was in his championship Little League game. He really showed me something. Struck out three times. Made an error that lost the game. Parents were throwing things at our car and swearing at us as we drove off. Gosh, I was proud.

MLB Network going to broadcast some Uecker games/interviews later today.

Also Catcher in the Wry is one of the funniest baseball books ever. Great stories

Career highlights? I had two - I got an intentional walk from Sandy Koufax and I got out of a rundown against the Mets.
