So there is another storm coming next week too?

As of this morning's models, that storm would be in the ohio river valley, and not central Iowa.

Wouldn't get too worked up about that one yet.

Obviously it could be right back over Iowa by the time the 12Z models come out, but such is the reliability of a week+ into model fantasy land.

blizzard warning starts here at noon tomorrow. I'm really hoping for a snow day!

Roads were icy as **** this morning, but I was fine until right at the very slight hill coming down to turn into work. I'm going slow but I can see the road is sheer ice. And who is waiting to turn in but my boss. I was about 85% sure I was going to have to just go on by and come back because I couldn't get slowed down to turn because if I braked any harder (as in actually using them), I was pretty sure I would end up hitting my boss's vehicle. No bueno. Thankfully, there was a small clear patch right before the driveway that I could get some traction. The whole time I'm thinking "do NOT get in two crashes in one week, do NOT get in two crashes in one week!"

haven't looked into this at all but is this storm headed due east through Chicago or is it headed north through Wisconsin? Got a flight into ORD Friday afternoon and I'm hoping the storm is headed up Packer way

You should be fine by Friday afternoon. Everything is supposed to be out of here Thursday night. Looks like it's tracking more up north into Wisconsin and they aren't projecting a major storm here. 6-7 around the burbs getting more as you go north. Friday is supposed to be sunny all day.

Might be some delays, dealing with cleaning up Thursday cancellations and delays, but you should be good.
