Finally today Mediacom added TNT,TBS, and CNN high def channels to their lineup. I heard FSNHD is also being added soon.

Is this on their HD package, or just basic cable? Right now I have one of my HDTV hooked up to my HD package through Mediacom, and I have a 22" HDTV hooked up to basic out of hte wall cable that gets 8 and 13 HD channels.

I am not a big fan of Mediacom, however, I do have their digital package. I think they are the lessor of the evils. I sure enjoy the digital channels (Yes I wish there were more however I don't watch a lot of tv), and channel 22 reruns on ISU games and more recently the Drake MBB games. They have some nice on demand shows such as Power Shots too. As far as their internet and phone options, I think there are much better options than what Mediacom offers.

I would definitely prefer to have Directv but it isn't an option where I live. It is nice having Mediacom connections for the ISU reruns and Drake games but that's about it.
My HD DVR is buggy and there aren't enough HD channels. Plus it's more expensive.

I just noticed those channels myself, FSNHD would be a good addition too.

I'm aware that Dish and Direct tv have more HD channels than cable, they've had TNT and TBS for awhile I think. My question is this- is there any HD programming on TBS? I know TNT has plenty including NBA, but I scanned several days ahead on TBS and didn't see a single HD program. I'm sure a big reason for that is because TBS has so much syndicated crap from the past few years before HD was big, but I see there is a movie on tomorrow night and it's not HD? What's the point if they don't have the programming?

Oh, and I flipped to CNNHD to check it out and could clearly see Hillary Clinton's wrinkles...so that was great.

While they're at it, they might as well upgrade their cameras or something because whenever sports are played on the mediacom channel, it looks like they are recording them with a handheld camera from 1980.

They are supposed to be adding quite a bit more also. If they can some how get the right ones then I could care less if they have 85 channels in HD if 56 of them are crap. If they could somehow get the 25 I watch then I will be happy. I pay $79 / month for Video on Demand, DVR HD Receiver, Sports Pack, HBO and Showtime.
I really think that eventually NFL and the Big11 network will be on the sportspack sooner than later, plus I hate the Big11 and if I want to watch a NFL game I will go to my neighbor's or a Pub. One thing I like about Mediacom is that I have a bunch of other TV's in the House that I don't need a box for. (although that needs to probably stop if they want more bandwidth for HD). I also like connections 22.
I look for them to really get agressive on their Phone service also. Like maybe drop the prices a ton. Just what I heard.

Really, I have been thinking the opposite. I think CTN looks like trash and Connections puts on a decent broadcast.

Both remind me of watching TV in the 70's using an antenna during a thunderstorm. Yes it would be nice that Mediacom could get new equipment or better video contractors.

I really haven't seen many games on CTN...
But the one i did see, wasn't all that great either.
So, maybe they should both just upgrade to whatever ESPN uses.

Another Mediacom HD question/comment for you all- I have only used On Demand here a couple times, but am not seeing any HD content. Any idea if it will ever be offered? Comcast in Seattle had pretty decent HD content, including pay-per-view movies. I haven't really used On Demand here because I can't stand watching SD content, at least for movies. I do have the HBO/Starz pack which each have an HD channel. Every weekend I try to look all the way through the upcoming week to see if there are any movies I want to see, and then set the DVR. I also find decent movies (unedited with no commercials) quite often on the other HD channels- HDNET, UHD, etc. Also, I know some of you will be interested to know that Arrested Development is on daily at 11:30 a.m. on HDNET channel 850.
