The media these days love to feign objectivity when the reality is they have biases and those biases affect their reporting. They deserves some criticism for the way they harassed Allen Lazard about his commitment. Rhoads called them out for it, and now they act likely they are above criticism.

I have absolutely no problem with what he said to the media. I personally agree that it was warranted. They spend plenty of their time criticizing coaches and their programs, so they better toughen up to the reality that they aren't above criticism.

Murphy is delusional if he cannot admit to the embarrassing coverage the media provided in regard to Lazard's recruitment.

You have to understand two things. Murph likes Iowa more than he likes ISU and Jon Sears works for Murph. He won't admit anything ever about the media coverage of Lazard.

Classic Mildred Murph . . . stirring the **** and then having phony Clone fans call in condemning PBR's actions at the press conference.

Classic Mildred . . . defending his idiot media pals . . . and razor cutting PBR for taking a stand. If I were ISU . . .Mildred wouldn't sniff anywhere near ISU sports personnel or facilities. Little twerp that he is.

I agree with this, the problem is right now on the radio it's about the two most unbiased major voices in the state.
Of course they don't get it, they weren't a huge part of it. They're defending their colleagues to the point that they're looking like idiots now though.

No bias here.

The Central Iowa media have been frothing at that mouth, openly hoping that Lazard ditches lowly ISU. It's obvious. Rhoads throws it back in their face, and they flip ****. When Ferentz gives them the ol' Cleveland Steamer they just slurp it up and say "thank you sir, may I have another", so I'm struggling to see why they can't chew on Paul's ***** burger a little easier.

I really believe him/Fales when they are saying they are pretty unbiased. I don't know how you can really be hateful towards Murphy. I think he's overreacting and off his rocker on this topic but usually is pretty even keeled.

Solution that as more and more of these types die out, the DesMoines area is more and more Cyclone fan to replace them. There will always be Hawks and Cyclones dominating the media conversation, it will never be a 90/10 split again like it was in the 90s. It's already getting closer to 50/50 but these guys are delusional not seeing much of the media was cheering against ISU.

Me too. They just can't see Sears and others for what they obviously are.

Using the term "butthurt" makes you look like an idiot.

And being upset over this "issue" perpetuates the stereotype of "everyone is out to get ISU".

I just think it is hilarious that on a day when the BOR approves for ISU to go ahead with the development of a plan to spend up to 60 million dollars to expand Jack Trice up to 60,000 capacity, these fools think the big story is that the local media, including them, is not going to be able to talk to a 17/18 year old kid in his first year in college.

If he is so even keel . . . why doesn't he take PBR's point of view and discuss how his pals were waiting . . probing, suggesting, leading Allen to switch??????????????????

Andy REALLY doesn't get it. Someone like Sears wasn't digging for ratings. He's a Hawkeye. It's simple. Calling us Clowns isn't ratings...it's because he's a Hawk. Same for numerous other writers over the years.

I think ISU fans and some media members have seriously overreacted in the wake of CPR's press conference. Yeah, Rhoads no doubt took some pleasure in lobbing some grenades at Notre Dame, EIU, and the media. But I don't really care if Lazard talks to the media next year or not. I look forward to watching him make a statement with his play on the field instead.

Also, I'm butthurt about the overuse of the word butthurt. Can we all agree to retire it?
