Thought I would like this great article:

http://iowastate.scout.com/story/1523041-iowa-state-escapes-oklahoma-unbroken?s=171

“That’s like a rock. Can’t nobody break us,” McKay said afterward, still clenching his hand. “We were all one. Can’t nothing break a rock, that’s how I feel.”

And while McKay often let the rock formed with his large hands do the talking on this night, he did use words when halftime finally ended a forgettable 20 minutes.
“If you don’t believe we can win this game, don’t walk out of the locker room at halftime,” McKay told the team. “Everybody walked out, so I knew we all believed we could win. That’s what we did.”

More than words, it a was clenched fist that acted as a symbol for Iowa State’s latest feat, and that is now a symbol of a renewed 2014-15 season.

I think the fan base needs to embrace the clenched fist kinda like the Niang band-aid during the tournament. How cool would it be to see your fan base do that in KC.

What's frustrating to me is that he seems to now have a very short leash. I didn't think the shots he took today were bad shots, they were the same shots Thomas and Long were taking. He also tried to make an assist to McKay which ended up in a travel and grabbed 2 rebounds in those 8 minutes. The situation he is currently in just adds more pressure to his game, as he knows that if he misses a couple of shots, he is out of the game and might not come back.
It's frustrating to see that, for sure. I feel like Fred is far more comfortable with only 7 guys playing. Since Naz got hurt and Matt stepped up, Matt has been on the floor more often. If it's true that BDJ is nursing a minor injury, it makes sense that he's the one being left out at the moment.

I'll always wonder how different the fan perception of BDJ would be if Niang had passed to him on the last possession vs. Baylor instead of going into three guys. If Niang had passed and BDJ knocked down the winning shot at the buzzer, would BDJ be seen as a big time clutch player?

Watching Mckay in the first half with his post moves made me really excited for next season.
Let's just say he gets stronger, more comfortable with his back to the basket, gets a little better handle, and develops a short jumpshot. Jameels proven a few times he can put the ball on the deck and blow by a few people. Developing a jumper would make big guys close out fast and allow him to blow by.

This guys got a high ceiling under Fred.
