This just started popping up for me today, but it looks like it might be related to the incident that happened in early March. Anyway, I thought you might want to know.

I got a virus the other day when I clicked on a bleacher report link that was posted on CF. I was on the phone with Dell for 4 hours to get it off.

McAfee is about the worst antivirus program there is. If it detects even a hint of another antivirus program, ad blocker, spyware detector, registry cleaners, etc. on your computer, it literally locks down your system with no internet access whatsoever and your only recourse is running a system restore. I spent more than 3 hours over two phone calls with their technical support and was charged over $300 just for them to tell me that I would need to for all purposes format the hard drive just to run the program. Needless to say I demanded a refund for the product and my time wasted on the phone with them - fortunately I got it.

I don't like McAfee either, I use Avast at home. This was on my work computer. I just thought CF might want to try and get that changed. The incident was that there was a virus on the site for a while back in early march that infected some people.

With talks of the incident and people being given back time, is this a Lost thread?

I use Microsoft Security Essentials...it's free and just as good as every other paid antivirus out there.

Same problem here with my work computer which has McAfee and there's nothing I can do about which anti-virus we have on our computers.

Our company just switched to McAfee and that means no more CF for me. I also can't get into new Yahoo mail. Can access via the old but not the new. Anyone else experienced this with McAfee?
