Matt's Valencia team won game 3 of their playoff series vs. Unicaja Malaga and advance now to play the #1 seed -- Real Madrid. Matt is STILL sidelined and missed the entire 3-game series vs. Malaga. I think that's 7 or 8 straight that he's missed.

RM doesn't have Luca Doncic but they did finish 1st in the Spanish league in regular season. They beat Valencia in both their regular season match-ups so I'm sure they want their sharpshooter back but I have no idea if he's expected to play. (I checked and he shot friggin 49% from 3 this year in the Spanish league).

Continuing my very boring posts, Matt missed Game 1 of the best-of-three semi-final against Real Madrid and Valencia got blistered from 3, losing 94-72. An American named Anthony Randolph (ex. LSU; has played for 4 NBA teams) went 6 for 6 from 3 (yikes) for Real Madrid. They really could use Matt back on the court.

Aaaaaand, Matt's season 1 at Valencia ends with a whimper: Valencia lost game 2 vs. Real Madrid today and their season ended in the semi-finals of Spain's playoffs. Matt again was sidelined and did not appear in the game.

So, Matt should have a couple months back in the States and hopefully, he can get his leg healthy again. He's got a year left on his contract with Valencia (I don't think either side has wiggle room). The Spanish league usually kicks off at the end of September.

With their ticket already punched for the euroleague, the playoffs didn't mean as much for Valencia which may be a reason they are taking it slow with Matt's injury/recovery

Yeah, they're definitely being careful with him; he was really needed in the playoffs. The Euroleague was a big step, yes, but winning the Spanish league would be a BIG deal for them so I'm sure if he were ready to go, he would've had some minutes. Still, a good season for them, winning the EuroCup and finishing 4th in the regular season.
