ESPNEWS reporting Holliday and the Cardinals reached an agreement of about $120 million over 7 years.

Good news for us Cardinal fans, although it always seemed as though it was just a matter of time before it would happen. 7 years is a long time but with his documented work ethic, Holliday is one of the safer bets not to fall apart as he gets older.

Good luck St. Louie - as a Rockie fan I was tee'd when he left Colorado, but based on the players we got in return Gonzalez and Street I'm thrilled we saved all that money.

Now the Cards need to open the vault and lock up Albert!

I think I've heard before that for Albert it is all about Championships so he is not as caught up in the money thing as others. I'm not saying he won't demand a lot but if he is not the highest paid but his team has a better chance to win it all I think he will be okay with that.

Insert Joe Mauer for Albert and that is the same tune coming out of Minnesota...it will be interesting for sure!
