Just thought he deserved a thread for his work on Vaughn. Sucks that he and Fred couldn't land Vaughn, but there is always another one I guess. Hard work pays off eventually. He'll land a 5 star recruit soon enough. Sorry if this sounds negative, I'm bummed we missed out on Vaughn. It's not supposed to sounds that way at all. I appreciate his work and someday he will help recruit our way to a Final 4.

I could not be happier with the staff and the direction of Cyclone basketball. I feel for the staff because they did everything they could. Without a doubt the future is bright.

Just wanted to give a big thank you to coach A, Freddy...all of our assistants for their constant effort recruiting the best kids to iowa state and this program.


I appreciate and thank you for taking time away from your family, your friends, your free time to sometimes simply attend a game of a recruit. The hours spent on phone calls, traveingl and talking to and buttering up the right people....I thank you.


Despite on missing out on this one...I love next years team anyway, I wouldn't trade this staff and how you represent my alma mater for anyone. You guys are the best.


Just wanted you guys to know how much we respect, appreciate and love what you guys are doing....one recruit won't make this program or break this program.....In the words of coach Dale...."My team is on the floor"

It's obvious that RV is the one losing out in this situation IMO. Too bad for him.

Fred and Matt were both too classy to stoop to the levels that UNLV did. Good for them! I'm not certain that RV is the kind of kid we want here anyway. Too much about himself IMO.

What I don't get is all the people who are criticizing Matt on twitter saying that he is classless and full if sour grapes for "leaking" the news. He spent a good part of the past 3.5 years on this kid is he just supposed to fake a smile and say "oh well thanks for being interested in us"? Then they are saying that he was trying to ruin RVs announcement and that future recruits should take notice. Eff all of those people

That's just UNLV fans. Probably not the smartest move, but had to be satisfying, so I'll cut him some slack.

One point that an ISU fan made was that someone on the UNLV had to have leaked something over the last week for the sudden shift in all the prognosticators predictions, seems more like that was the case than Matt's tweet.
