Malort

I bought a bottle so I can make unknowing people take shots when they come over to my house. I take it with them though, because I'm not a weiney.

It's pretty terrible and people swear it's an acquired taste but it's pretty terrible

From my experience, when people say it’s an acquired taste, they mean it tastes like **** but all my friends drink it so I want to fit in.

If you've never had it, most bars will offer it to you for free. In my experience, if you have no idea what it is and try it, you won't hate it as much as if you drink it after everyone has told you how bad it is.

It’s worse if you’re drunk and are expecting fireball and it happens to be Malort. My suggestion is expect it to be one step below a shot of everclear and give it a go

It’s not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. If you like bitter IPAs you won’t hate it.

This thread is pretty enlightening.

I may start to ask people during job interviews if they think Malort tastes awful or not. If they say they think is ok or not as bad as people say then I know there is something wrong with them, so may as well just stop the interview there.

It’s gross, but no more gross than any other herbal liqueur. It’s supposedly good mixed with grapefruit soda or juice but I’ve yet to try it that way.

It’s pretty gross but gotta take one if you’re in Chicago and get offered one. Won’t kill you and I’m sure you’ll get a laugh out of how bad it is

The taste comparisons I have heard are ear wax, perfume and bile. Yum.
