Re: LOST Season 4

Perhaps Locke is the one dead and at the funeral parlor?

Jon,

I don't think so because in the season 3 finale, Kate made it clear she was not going to the person's funeral. Kate must have had something strong happen between her and the dead person. Kate never had to do much with Locke directly. I assume Locke also tried to stay on the island at all costs.

you should recap Lost on your show tomorrow!

Re: LOST Season 4

It was a stewardess in a commercial spot saying "fly oceanic and see the world" and then Jack's face pops in for a frame or two and says something...."don't trust em or trust them"

I'm not watching on my DVR so i can't rewind...sorry.

Re: LOST Season 4

I am guessing the island was trying to keep everyone there...and Locke was a manifestation of the islands wishes, and that is why Hurley apologized.

I don't think Locke was a manifestation, I think that he will become the "leader" of the island when Ben leaves (I'm with you thinking that it was Ben's funeral they went to). We know Locke is special according to Ben because he heard Jacob speak...which Ben did not like so he tried to kill Locke in the end of Season 3.

Charlie and the African man, are all visual manifestations of the island that are visible to other people as well. (the guy in the yard of the looney bin told Hurley that someone was staring at him, and he was told he had a visitor inside the looney bin)

Could be...or the guy that told Hurley that someone was staring at him could also have been his mind playing tricks on him.

You can bet that every Friday in the first segment of the show, we will have a Lost discussion :)

Some might say that I am lost most of the time anyhow.

It wasn't Jack. It's a guy who's been featured in the Find815.com website that the Lost/ABC marketers are running. It's an interesting website. Lost fans should check it out.

Re: LOST Season 4

The funeral parlor in last year's last show was an anagram for Flash Forward, as has been posted.

I think the funeral was for Ben. So I think he got off the island, and certainly didn't want to.

So that would leave one more person that got off.

Not to throw a spanner in your theory, but Ben wasn't on Flight 815, so I doubt he counts against the total in the 'Oceanic 6'.

Re: LOST Season 4

What was Daniels (from The Wire) doing visiting Hurley at the looney bin? Do you think he actually worked for Oceanic Air? Seeing him in this episode made me think they were crossing over The Wire with Lost. Thems my 2 favorite shows and if that happened I think my head mights explode!

Re: LOST Season 4

As for who the people might be coming to the island...

You have to think at some time that the Dharma folks are going to come back to the island looking for a little payback for what Ben did, or to try and find the place to see what went wrong.

My sources tell me there will be a cliffhanger episode where the cast tackles the Plane on a Treadmill question. Can't miss TV.

Re: LOST Season 4

So much to talk about!

First of all, that Oceanic Airlines commercial during Eli Stone... wow. They had that guy from the alternate-reality game for LOST basically cutting into the commercial saying "Don't trust them" and at the very end "Oceanic 815... we found it" along with a clip of the plane as shown on the bottom of the ocean floor.

So, it looks like Naomi was right, and the plane actually did crash.

I recorded tonight's show in HD on my DVR, so I'm going back and looking through it. People have said that the guy sitting in Jacob's cabin was Jack's dad Christian... with Locke obviously now buddy-buddy with him.

EDIT: Sitting at a freeze frame right now. It's dark, so if you want to look for it yourself, you've gotta bump up the TV's brightness, but it's definitely Jack's dad.

Just totally bizarre.

They have so much pressure to make this thing end with answers, and in epic fashion. Anything less than a walk off grand slam will be a major let down

Re: LOST Season 4

Another interesting thing as I'm zipping through this recording... the scene where Jack and Hurley are talking in the basketball court during the fast-forward. Hurley never misses a basket. They clue you in the first thing that Jack says, "Do you ever miss?" Every time Hurley throws the ball, the camera shows it going in.

I don't know if this has any significance, but it does kind of reference the episode last season where he finds the DHARMA van. The idea we got from that episode was that Hurley "makes his own luck". Maybe he's learned to channel it.

Re: LOST Season 4

For all you "Losties" out there, be sure to check out the "The Lost Blog" on Filmfodder.com. The guy who writes this is hilarious, and really gives great recaps of all the episodes, pointing out plot twists you might have missed.

On the season 3 finale shown Wed. night: The things that really fooled me into originally believing I was seeing a "Jack Backstory" were one, the comment Jack made to the chief of surgery referring to his dad and his drinking problem. Two, when Jack is driving to the funeral parlor he has Nirvana's "Scentless Apprentice" (great song BTW) cranked up on the radio. That song was on the album In Utero which came out in '93, so I figured this was some time before the crash. However, in the very beginning when Jack is using his cell, it appears to be a Razr. At first, I thought this was a plot hole, but I was wrong. Anyway, on to season four. Great episode tonight! Let's hope the writers settle soon so we can have a full season.

Re: LOST Season 4

I completely forgot about Naomi(?) saying they can't be the survivors of Oceanic 815 because they found the plane in the ocean.

Also, watching the first hour recap last night Ben said that the island isn't visible from the outside because of the electromagnetic field. Which I'm guessing is why they kept pushing the button. Now, people can see the island and that's why Naomi's people are there.

Re: LOST Season 4

There was a figure(Jacob) in a rocking chair, then Lockes eye/face pops outta nowhere, That scared the crap outta 4VR4VY!

It sure did scare the crap outta me!

Interesting that it was Jack's dad in the chair.

I don't keep up on a lot of the internet recaps and etc. So, we should have a thread for each of the episodes. That way, you geniuses that rewind and pause and etc. can fill me in!

Re: LOST Season 4

I am interested to see if Michael and Walt come back. They took a boat off the island but that doesn't mean they aren't floating around in the middle of the ocean. Sure Walt shows up and talks to Locke in the pit but Walt is an interesting kid and I don't think that was really him.

They better have an explanation for Walt showing up, and being a few years older. I saw someone make the joke that everytime Walt comes back to a season, he's a few inches taller, and his voice has gone down an octave.

And a bit of a spoiler regarding Michael (highlight to read):
I saw Harold Perrineau, the actor who played Michael, listed in last night's opening credits. I was fully expecting him to show up some time during the episode, but alas, he was nowhere to be found. Interesting that he's credited as being part of the cast now.
