So this movie, Longlegs, has some of the best marketing I can remember. First teaser trailer came out months ago and it was vague but terrifying. Then a second trailer came out a month or so ago building on what it's about but more terrifying. Then this week they started leaking only a few movie reviews on purpose to keep the mystery up...which is kind of unheard of. When a movie is still a full month to go before it hits theaters, the fact the studio is letting critics post reviews means they know they have something huge on their hands...and for a horror movie this is nearly unheard of. I refuse to read these full reviews but the headlines sealed the deal for me.

I've never been into horror films. Ones I really enjoyed were Cabin in the Woods, Get Out, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Thing.

I might have to check this out but I'm always very skeptical when going into horror.

Love a good horror and have never heard of this, so I’ll have to give it a watch.

Based on the trailer I’m gonna guess

It’s about a cult that she was a part of as a kid where her father (Cage) was the leader and is trying to lure her back into it as she’s the “chosen one”. Just a wild guess

Sorry this is way OT, but has anyone else noticed that there aren’t very many daddy long leg spiders around anymore? Like in the 80’s and 90’s they were everywhere. They were the #1 spider I would see or step on. Now I never see them.

I see plenty in and around my house, so I guess I have not noticed the decline in their population. Sad if true, an ultimately helpful not harmful species of spider.

Good guess but I'm pretty sure Stacy Keibler is killing people.

Looks like an awesome movie that I will not be partaking in outside the hours of noon-3:00.

If you'd like to see a bunch, you are welcome to crawl through the crawl space at my dad's house.

Not really about their disappearance, but some fun facts about "daddy long legs", aka harvestman. (No more derailing from me).

Creepy trailer + good reviews on a Cage performance, definitely in on this one.

Cobweb on Hulu is a good movie if horror with a spidery name floats your boat.

Seeing this Thursday night. Reviews are coming out and it's off the charts raves which is rare for a horror movie. Here is the final trailer.

So confused. I heard Nicolas Cage and I immediately went to Netflix cause I thought, direct to streaming, right? He’s back to doing legitimate theatre movies? When did this happen?

I was skeptical because Cage will do anything but I keep reading good things about this. Of course that could be marketing. I'm planning on seeing it. I love all kinds of horror.

I haven’t been this disappointed in a movie in a long time. I didn’t think it was scary at all. Creepy and weird and sense of dread sure. But massively disappointed. Like a 2/10.
I almost never like horror movies as much as people hype them up. Probably won't see this one.

We saw it tonight. For the first hour or so, it seemed like it had potential. After that, I was thinking they needed one hell of a twist and climactic scene to save it, and that never arrived. No idea what the critics are talking about.

Is it more thriller than horror. Honestly, first time I saw the trailer I was getting more Silence of the Lambs vibes than straight up horror movie.

Then all the hype came and seemed like it was more horror than thriller, now I see lots of people disappointed saying it's not scary. Which is fine if it's just a good thriller.

Going to movies next weekend for my birthday and trying to decide between this and Maxxxine. But both seem to be getting pretty mild reviews.
