Can you imagine how our fanbase would react if Blum talked about ISU the way Hassel talks about Iowa?

LOL oh, they'd go absolutely apeshit. Blum works for the AD though. Hassel made a career doing exactly that shtick they hate.
Bruns' postgame will be way better than one with Hassle and Downs. Both of them are more of the casual fan variety which I don't need to hear a podcast from the guy sitting next to me in the stadium that doesn't really know ball.
I think that was Trent Condon.
I'm just saying we'd be no different if a prominent ISU media person was as hard on ISU as Hassel is on Iowa. Our fanbase is thin skinned as hell.
Condon's "Locked On Iowa" reaction to that game was incredible. We even caught a few strays that he'd never dare say on KXNO, but revealed his true feelings. Something about "those morons in Ames" or something to that effect.
I would never expect this take from a guy who admitted to throwing piss on someone at a game.
The older I get, the more I see it. I agree.
Too be fair though, the insanity of the Iowa offense over the last several years has brought plenty of reasons to be intensely criticized. The whole punt coordinator skit thing kind of got old but stuff like that wasn't like it was unwarranted.
Also, I've not thought about it much but the hawk friends I have who I would consider somewhat rational about their fandom find Hassel hilarious and listen to 2GNC more than I do.
my seats are right next to him and I enjoyed listening to him analyze the last play and saying what play they could be running. it was fun.
I definitely used to be one of the folks who looked at everything as a slight against too.
Iowa's definitely brought it on themselves.
He’s not a jerk at all imho. He just satirizes what deserves it.
Few things are as satire worthy as recent Iowa FB offense lately so he lays it on.
Lately Hassel has been pointing out how silly some ISU fans are who suggested 8 wins would be a disappointment.
Condon is a total little b*tch - in every sense of the word. Would pay money to see him stuffed in a locker where he belongs. He's got perhaps the smarmiest (is that a word?)/dorkiest radio voice I've ever heard in my life, and yet somehow has the confidence to be a condescending know-it-tall little pr*ck while doing a live radio show.
Suckeye fans will always show their true colors when provoked. Ross Peterson did this years ago when he went on quite possibly the single douchiest rant in KXNO history when iowa basketball got ranked up to #3 in the country at one point (maybe 2013-2014-ish?) and a Cyclone fan called in to the live show and claimed iowa wasn't a legit top 10 team or something along those lines. Little Ross about sh*t himself into tears during his b*tchfest.
iowa of course was not a legit top 10 team, and proceeded to lose 10 out of their next 18 games and truly embarrassing "Fran-fade" fashion. God that was great.
