We're about to find out if people have been clamoring for more Travis & Ross in their lives.
My money says no. Most people tune in to shows on stations like KXNO because it’s convenient. Just turn on the radio in the car, kitchen or workplace and, voila, there’s the show. Probably doesn’t even matter who’s on the air. As long as there’s a voice yappin about sports or whatever, people will listen to pass the time on their commute, at work, etc.

Now folks like Travis and Ross think a huge number of people are going to go out of their way to find them on YouTube or Facebook or wherever they’re going? Some will, of course, but I don’t think in large numbers.

One person audience. Two if Ross hadn't gotten divorced.

So serious question. Did we ever find out who Ross meant with that sketchy Tweet about backstabbers?
I wouldnt think but could it have been.......Sean?

I think a 6-8am live cast is an interesting concept. I’m not sure it will work unless a person doesn’t mind listening to podcasts a day in arrears. It’s kind of hard to watch a live show while driving.
You can set your phone down and just listen...who doesn't have Bluetooth in their vehicle at this point? They will also have an audio only stream.

CW says a massive chunk of their IE numbers come from YouTube...which you can stream the posts live or at any time...so...

Good.

****** or anti-ISU programming on local airwaves has long been an issue. Just not tuning in doesn’t mean it isn’t doing brand damage

Iowa benefited for having the 1040 blowtorch for decades creating fans. Clearly technology has marginalized the impact of radio, but it’s still good to not have a Travis type reaching casual listeners

I don't see this show of theirs lasting more than a month. They won't get listeners and they'll stop.

While I agree it won't be all that successful, a month is way too short. It doesn't cost THAT much to produce, and they already have that Bruno guy's bars as a sponsor.

Plus I think they (Travis especially) like being in the spotlight & feeling important so he'd probably keep it going even at a slight loss.

I think the second part is why he'll stop. He's going to be embarrassed that nobody likes him so he'll quit.

Most of their listeners trend on the old side. Not really people that will go out of their way to change their habits of listening to the radio.

I'm very curious if it was Sean. I'm guessing he won't stay in the 6-8 window on KXNO, but if he does, these guys are in direct competition with him. It's all very interesting.

My understanding is that several of the on air guys are getting like fast food wages + no need for a non-compete when corporates WANTS local people to leave…
The economics of the whole thing never made sense to me. They can’t be getting paid squat. It has to make more sense in a market this size for corporate to just pay the syndicated shows and be done with it. Ratings have to be dropping like flies with all the options. I only listen to podcasts these unless it is by accident.

On Friday's KXNO highlight hour, or whatever they call it, didn't play anything from the Morning Rush at all.

You guys know Travis has other podcasts, right? It's fairly pathetic for people to root for others to fail, like Ross and Travis are wealthy a-holes that flaunt their money. "I hope they fail because they have such an impact on my daily life! I don't ever listen but I comment negatively about them every chance I get!"
