At what age do kids need their own ticket/seat? I have a friend who is going to come to a few games with an 8 month old. Pretty sure at that age they don't need their own ticket right? The only things I have found is children under 2 don't need a ticket but that is old information.

My sources have told me no ticket until they're 2 and older.

I believe under 2 is still accurate. Your buddy will be fine with his 8 month old. This isn't Kinnick, JP doesn't hate babies.

While JP loves puppies too, they aren't allowed in games, but are welcome at tailgates., as compared to IC where they kill puppies for fun

Thank you. I was fairly certain but was unable to find confirmation in my searches. Now I do I turn off replies before those that do hate children show up.

They don't hate all kids. Just the ones that don't stand and cheer loud the whole game. Kids these days always sitting on their hands.

Those people are in the thread I started about tailgating and game day with kids. Some people don't think kids should be allowed in the games, apparently.

I wouldn't say that I think kids shouldn't be allowed - but know the situation. Growing up, when my parents took me to church, we'd sit in the back with other young kids who otherwise might disrupt others. Same thing applies here right? If you have a chill baby who will just sleep most of the time I don't see the problem at all. If you have a kid who will need a lot of attention and will probably scream their head off the whole time... yeah, might want to sit this one out? Seems to me common sense would apply here.

A baby is going to disrupt people at a loud ass football game? That baby is clearly a better fan than you, he's not waiting until 3rd down to get loud.

How are we supposed to know how the kid will do at a game without actually taking them to a game? I'm taking my kid on Saturday, hoping it will work. If it doesn't, we'll have to reassess for the rest of the season. But the number of responses I got just telling me to stay home or "don't sit near me" was really rude. Personally, I'd rather sit next to someone with a kid than someone who had too much alcohol in the tailgate lots.

Again, know the situation. Know what you're getting into, know what you'll do if "problems" arise.

I have two girls, 3 and 5. At no point during her life would the 5 year old have been a problem at a game. She does really well in "chaotic" situations where there's a lot of stimulation. We did in fact take her to an Illinois game when she was around 1 year old. Zero problems. Diaper changes were the worst of it, but we knew ahead of time that the bathrooms had changing tables. We did take ear muffs to help with the loud crowd noise and practiced using those beforehand. The experience was perfectly fine - a little extra pain taking the diaper bag and carrying the kid, but really no big deal. I doubt the people near us were inconvenienced at all.

Our 3 year old is the opposite. You couldn't pay me enough to take her to a 3 hour football game. She's very needy and gets stressed out when over stimulated. She'd have a really tough time sitting still etc. Even if she had room to roam around on this hillside, I would go into the experience expecting to watch zero minutes of the game. She'd be miserable, I'd be miserable. Not worth it.

Not exactly sure.
One season we squeezed a kid in. Now before going off about that. Understand that we had seats 16/17/18/19 but the middle people spread out so we only got 17/18/19 and still shoehorned in 5. Had the middle complain once when we did it, after that I made sure we got all 4 of ours and they had to sit 4 in 4 instead of 4 in 5.

The kid in question spent many days at the state fair this year around large crowds and lots of noise and had a blast. Ear muffs will probably be a good idea at the stadium though
