KDSM Digital Signal

This is a little off topic, but does anybody get 5.1 or 5.2? My signal strength is way too weak to get either one and everything else comes in great.

Actually KDSM was in and out yesterday after I finally got them to work. Not coming in at all today, granted I haven't rotated the antenna, but it is pointing the Des moines direction. I just doesn't make sense to me that 17-1 and 17-2 came in great, until they stopped broadcasting analog. If they don't boost the signal, they will lose alot of their coverage it appears. Thanks to all that helped.

Some days reception is better over the airwaves in HD. Some winter days can be lousier than some summer days. You may need an antenna upgrade.

Channel 5-1 and 5-2 were the weakest of the Des Moines area channels for me in SE Ia, but I am getting them clearly tonight but no 17-1. I am beginning to hate this digital transition already. I will have to figure something out before NFL season for sure. I know someone with one of those smart antennas. I will have to get in contact with them and see if they are getting 17-1 now. I even tried to rotate the antenna tonight and could barely get 17 and it kept going out.

How are most of you running the rescan on your DirecTV boxes? We've got the HR-20 and I literally just cleared our OTA settings and started over.

That is what I did on my HR-21.

What direction are you guys setting up your antenna, I am struggling with 13.1 and 13.2, and I live in Grimes. Everything else is great.

Remember back in the late 1900's (1982-ish?)when you had to do this just to get Channel 17 to come in? Rabbit Ears & aluminum foil and other antenna manuevers just to watch a crummy episode of Beans Baxter, etc...ah, the good ol' days.
