When
The tournament is set to take place April 24-28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Junior and Senior Freestyle portion of the event will be on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.

Who
Tate Battani, Tyler Buesgens, Corey Cabanban, David Carr, Hunter DeJong, DeMichael Franklin, Isaac Judge, Charlie Klepps, Zane Mulder, Noah Nemer, Joel Shapiro, Anthony Sherry, Grant Stotts and Brandon Tessauare all set to compete in freestyle this weekend.

Former Iowa State national champion Kyven Gadson will also be competing in the Marine Corps U.S. Open at 97 kg for the Cyclone Regional Training Center.

Going to be an extremely tough weekend for David Carr, according to Flowrestling he's registered for both the Junior and Senior level this weekend, because of this I don't see Carr winning a title this weekend, I do hope he places well this weekend and I'll most certainty be watching all the Cyclone wrestlers.

Why aren't some of the older guys wrestling? Isn't this what Gomez and Gremmel won last year on the junior level?

I see Carr is registered at 74kg in the juniors. Is he growing into a 165?

There is a U23 tournament at the end of May that I'm sure we'll send a good contingent to, with winners qualifying for worlds.Guys that do well at the Junior Open this weekend will qualify for Jr World Team trials and have a chance to make a world team to compete overseas.

Carr has a legitimate shot, he was close last year. Is Gomez still Jr eligible?

Carr, Teemer, Sasso are all big-time medal threats along with Brayton Lee and Anthony Artalona who are also entered. Those 5 are the top dogs to win it. Some notables: Cayd Lara and Mason Hulse (formerly of Iowa, wrestles for Northern Colorado) are entered. A lot of tough kids I didn't mention also in the weight.

I think 74 is a lot easier to win both junior level and senior level for Carr so that might be why he's going 74 rather than 70
