He was told by ISU that they weren't going to extend an offer. He committed there because of some coaching connections.

So does this mean ISU will be extending Stigger (sp) an offer in the near future?

Was there a reason we did not extend an offer to him?
He seemed like a nice player down low.

sounds like grade issues and a lot of summer school coming up just to make it in this fall.

Redd, I disagree. I know we wont be deep at guard but if you look at other posts you will see we have major interest for the next few years. I have said in other posts that we need to win immeadiately but we also need to keep soem schollies for the guys who will build our program into a perennial power. With McIntosh, Taylor, Clark and Dunson we will not be deep by any stretch of the imagination but ,barring an injury, we will last the season while getting Dunson quality minutes as a freshman. I have no doubt that these players can play great ball...yes they will make mistakes but i dont think we hould incest another scholarship on someone that may or may not play much this season. I would like to see the remaining schollies banked for the next few years. I wouldnt mind getting stiggers but thats because i think it is more important to have depth down low. We have a chance with some highly rated recruits and i would hate to see them slip through our fingertips because we spent a schollie on someone who plays 10 min. per game.

All we have to do is bulk up our 6-10 plus big men and show them how to move their feet, which McD does well as a coach. Our inside ganme will be okay. if we get in foul trouble, we can go to a small lineup like UNI did when they brought in their 6-6 center after 6-8 Grant Stout went out. McD whiole at UNI at times looked like he had 4 guards in his lineup for ball handling purposes.

good analysis clone33... I agree with you and I think our bigs with gray stepping up this year could be ok... the next big we need is one who will be around awhile... we may not have depth... but I think we will be good with what we have right now for next year.

I have no idea how effective Mcd will be as a coach, but I do know this, we will not be good next year. As I have said before, I think it is better not to waste a scholly on a guy like this we will only have for 2 when we could wait and hopefully get a stud frosh next year. Unless we get LaBron, Kobe, and Jermaine Oneil to use up thier eligibility up, there is no one that will help us to be a tourney contender, yet the future has so many possibilities, also for my "negative" slant, it will give mcd less excuses if he fails.
