Not to change the subject but I am also about to embark on something epic. In 1.5 hours I will be heading to Templeton, IA for the 2nd annual Rock & Rye Festival. We have 13 guys loading up our tailgating short bus and heading West on Hwy 141. Should be a good time.

Probably wouldn't consider myself a true Parrot Head, but been to shows in Chicago and Alpine Valley. Both a blast but if you get a chance in the future, I think the Alpine Valley show is better.

Hmmm....A bunch of hippies in flip-flops congregating in Chicago...I wonder how that will turn out......

I've been to 13 shows. 3 at Tinley Park in Chicago, 8 at Alpine Valley, and 2 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Always a good time. Other than the Target Center, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Although I will say that Alpine Valley is much more lenient than Tinley Park about what goes on in the parking lot. :jiggy:

Have fun. Don't forget your shaker of salt!

Hmmm....A bunch of long-haired hippies in flip-flops congregating in Chicago, I wonder how that will turn out......

Uuhh...this statement would indicate that you've never been to a Buffett show. You barely see any "long-haired hippies". You're more likely to see moms, dads, doctors, factory workers, college students, etc just blowing off steam for a night. In 13 shows, I've witnessed one fight at a Buffett show, and the police never had to get involved.

kinda sad it isnt at tinley park this year... it is at toyota park and im assuming that things might be pretty lenient there cuz i hear that the parking lot has now been pen for 1 hr 40 min for tailgating and tinley was only open 3-4 hours b4 hand.... my parents are happy that it is going away from tinley cuz it is "too crazy" but i am pretty let down i wont be able to exp. the lawn sections myself

First off, congratulations on moving on up from a parakeet to a true parrothead! It's the first really hot day of the summer - thus perfect for a show and immnese tailgating experiences.

My husband and I have been going to Buffett shows since '99 - all at Tinley Park except the last two years a Alpine Valley. We're back at Alpine on the 29th. Im pretty pumped because I have an all new pirate outfit for this year. :jimlad:

BTW, I'd argue that you ARE doing something epic - someone's first Buffett show will stick with 'em. We took our nephew when he was ~16 for his first show. What a hoot! Between the bikini babes in eh parking lot and the early morning trick stop breakfast in grass skirts, we're pretty sure we're his fav aunt/uncle.
