Dear Cyclone fans,

We wanted to follow-up on our correspondence from earlier in the week to share the plans we are implementing this week to help with the congestion we experienced at the entrance gates prior to the UNI game.
  1. We are removing the bars from the turnstile scanners to make it faster for fans to pass through the gates.
  2. We will have additional customer service representatives on hand at the entrances to help individuals successfully tap or scan their tickets and deal with issues as they arise.
  3. If a fan has a difficult time scanning/tapping their tickets, customer service representatives will escort the fan into the stadium and away from the entrance to resolve the problem, thereby keeping the turnstile readily available for the next customer.
We can also use your help. With anticipation of several political candidates within the stadium footprint throughout the day, arriving at the gates earlier will help avoid potential bottlenecks and ensure that all fans can enter the gates safely and efficiently. Most fans that arrived at the entrance gates last Saturday by 12:30 p.m. (30 minutes prior to kickoff) were able to move through the turnstiles without issue. We strongly encourage fans to begin entering the stadium at least 45 minutes prior to kick-off to best insure quicker entry.

In addition, all fans should have their tickets downloaded and added to their Apple or Google wallets to expedite the scanning process. Here are some helpful links to share the best way to do this (FAQ), as well as the proper way to use our new pedestals (cyclones.com/mobiletickets).

We are hopeful these simple steps will allow fans to enter the stadium smoothly and in plenty of time for kickoff.

We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Go Cyclones!

Again with the, show up 45 mins early...But dont you dare show up early for tailgating.

He is trying, but he still refuses to believe that it was earlier than 1230, and that for some the scanners didnt work, even though we had the tix downloaded and ready to our wallet.

I appreciate his efforts, but he still refuses to see the entire issue.

People, watch the f’ing video JW does showing how to use your tickets.
What in that vid explains why when you download your tickets to your wallet, as required. Have all the communication features enabled etc. But still when you get to the scanner, it will not read the tix. And that it will not read the tix for you, the scanner operator, and her supervisor.

Where does it show that the system obviously fails, sometimes. And then you are SOL, because well its obviously your fault it doesnt work.

Holy nested tables Batman.
How else do people expect to center every piece of text to make it look "nice"? Most of us read text better when it's left-justified, but what do I know compared with athletic folks?

This would have helped a lot of people a week earlier

I'm having trouble pasting the email but Hawkeye fans and politicians are being advised to print screenshots of their tickets which will be accepted at the new S 16th St entrance gate starting at 3:30pm.

Not sure if already posted, but Iowa State updated the How to use Digital Tickets video with John Walters. Much better video with videos/screenshots of Apple and Android phones.

Except I did all that and the scanner didnt work. So?

Some people, like DH, could not move the ticket to the wallet. He very much wanted to, but "it's a known Ticketmaster issue." 0:1:17.

I’m not saying everyone is exaggerating but there are plenty of people who are.

The other thing I’d

They did have that info last week. But obviously not enough people saw it and there were other problems.

Just wondering, did the scanner screen show anything when you were trying to NFC scan/barcode scan or was it just frozen/not doing anything?
something popped up at one point but it was so quick that I didnt see it all, something about not found or similar.

Other than that it was just blank I believe. We tried for several minutes. Including the kiosk worker and her supervisor. In the end they just waved us in, because nothing worked. Same with the group ahead.

My sisters worked behind me, but it was much slower for her too.

Finally! Our email came in at 11:47. I'm sure there's a parallel here to some ticket scanning experience or something, but I can't quite make it out.

Edit: the message is not centered text, thank goodness. Bad enough I had to wait in an email queue to get it, I didn't want to strain my eyes, too ;)
