If you are tweeting/emailing the AD the day of the hire that you think it was a mistake, then I think you are acting like an *******. The decision was made, the AD who has a lot more knowledge about the candidates and their strengths and weaknesses and who was willing to come here. I think the AD makes the best decision that they can make. It's not like Jamie is sitting there wondering how to hire a coach that will fail.

If you have a problem with the hire on day 1, I think it is appropriate to talk about it on message boards or among your friends.

Why is it so hard to understand that just because the guy is being a **** doesn't justify Pollard reacting in kind in a very public manner. He is the AD. I guarantee there are many fans that felt the same way that guy did without tweeting it too Jamie, and they all feel like Pollard is talking to them as well. I get that's not Pollard's intention, but as the AD he needs to know that's how many will take it. He essentially told everyone who wasn't immediately on board with the hire to GTFO.

Pollard needs to get off twitter or get some admin or student to tweet for him. He is a disaster on twitter.

I love that our AD doesn't take crap from anybody regardless of whether they donate or not. Last thing we need is to be in a spot like Texas, having to give special treatment to all the high-maintenance boosters. They don't even need the money. Now they have to find a replacement AD and possibly a new football coach after this season.

As someone who is on twitter... everyone on Twitter is a disaster.

I don't know about everyone, but those affiliated with ISU don't have a real good track record lately.

If you post on twitter criticizing someone, you deserve any backlash that comes back at you.
I don't agree with what Pollard did, but Mr Gold Level, why not send the AD an email expressing your concerns.

In the end thought it was all pretty funny really.

Jamie should have responded by saying I'm glad to see you've warmed up to the idea, can't wait to see your upgrade to the Victory level to help support our program. (link to cyclone club here)

That's it. Simple. It gets the point across that sometimes people make fools of themselves by speaking before they really have a clue about the situation (that guy saying he didn't like the hire initially) and it makes a challenge to the guy instead of calling him out and making him feel like a chump for "only" donating at the Gold level by calling him a bandwagon fan.

it was a high level donor that spouted off about Iowa at the end of the press conference yesterday. Donors money is essential but their opinions are no better than anyone else :)

Because lots of folks on here worship JP - because of his status and celebrity - and that's just a "no-name fan." How DARE he talk to our Jamie that way?!
BTW - I'm sure JP has contempt for boards like this.

It also doesn't make sense to call the dude a front runner. Campbell has had one press conference, the guy isn't saying he changed his mind after we start 10-0 next year or something. To call any ISU football fan a front runner is ridiculous.

I guarantee that JP checked this guys level of donating before he sent out that tweet. There is no way JP would have done the same thing to a high level donor.

Shrug... happens everywhere. See Ohio State football 2 weeks ago.

Killer_clone called out Jamie to be fired with out having an ounce of knowledge about the person he was mad got hired... I assume he was a "get Les Miles!!!!" guy (stupid).
Jamie calls out someone for calling for his job and than doing a 180 (stupid).
Killer_clone plays the "I donate .000014% of your budget" card (stupid).

Yep.... that's Twitter! Only thing that was missing is someone getting off a racially charged blast, but the day is still young.

It hurts my soul to see people violate the peace and tranquility of the Twitter Universe.

Twitter has always been a sanctuary where ideas flow freely without judgement.

Shame to all who look to destroy a place where Ginger Lynn and President Obama can live in unity

Barta than celebrated by firing a female employee because this is a man's world dammit!
And then immediately turned around and nixed a male applicant just because he was a male so he could see what it was like to be sued by men and women for discrimination at the same time
