One thing to keep in mind - you're not going to like this - he was contacted and was told he was wanted by both of those schools long before Chizik even bothered to pick up the phone.
He has a relationship with Harbaugh and especially Fitzgerald that go much further back than with anyone from Iowa State.

Except ISU's O-Line coach went to High School with his Dad. I'm pretty sure he was in the same grade and a teammate of either Keith(Dad) or Hank(Uncle).
