I recommend going outside montego about an hour west. Beaches are much nicer. Of course you have to travel further then.

Late fall is a great time to go if you are looking. We just booked a room for $325 a night all inclusive. Plus we got a $500 gift card to use at the spa. Pretty sweet deals to be had if you are looking for this fall.

I would also recommend couples over sandals, but would 100% recommend Negril over Ocho. The lack of cruise ships is the best part about Negril.

The negril beaches at Couples or Sandals are not public. They are only public to the high tide line just as in Ocho. So if you want to partake in some of the local things the vendors sell, you can, or just stay back 10 feet and they will not bother you. The thing about Jamaican vendors, is they are not pushy at all. A smile and a no thanks is all you need and they totally respect that.

The beaches at Couples Sans Souci is private. The beach has cliffs on either side so there is no public access.

The beaches in Negril are public. Anyone can walk up and down Seven Mile Beach.

I will agree that the Jamaican beach vendors are not as pushy compared to other places like Mexico, but they are still there in Negril. Now the vendors off the beach are another story.

In all honesty, the beach is probably nicer in Negril, but I prefer the privacy of Ocho.

And I assume you booked the FILA special with Couples. Thinking about surprising the wife with that as well for this fall. Oh, and the $500 is only $350 at the spa, and $150 at the gift shop.

The wife and I are considering a trip to Jamaica in the next few months. The place we were looking at is located about an hour away from Montego Bay, I think it was Runaway Bay. It is a small adult only resort that is all inclusive. Anyone have any experiences in the Runaway Bay area?

Runaway Bay is a nudist resort. Expect to see a lot of naked women and a lot of floppin' sausage. Tour bus guide laughed about the place as we drove by on the way to Ocho Rios.

Runaway bay is a town. You are thinking Hedo III, that is a resort that is half nude/half prude.

Yep, that is the special we booked. Going back this fall. $3400 including flights out of DSM. Not bad for 7 nights.

Going somewhere. Maybe Jamaica, Mexico, somewhere.

I went to Aruba for Spring Break one year, Had an awesome time. I know plenty of good places to go there.
