The final pass he threw in the Oklahoma game (I believe) to end it still gives me nightmares. A 5-yard knuckleball pass thrown 15 yards wide of the receiver into the ground. If I were Meyer, I wouldn't wait by the phone on draft day.

To Meyer's defense on that one, replays showed that ball was tipped at the line. The argument about Meyer not being able to clear linemen's hands is a completely different issue.

David Blackwell is the QB coming in next year that is *supposed* to contend for the job. Mobile QB, and had some fantastic stats in Florida. He's being compared to Brad Banks, but at this point, comparing any Iowa player to the 2002-2004 squads seems a little ridiculous.

Shawk.....if you watch video on this guy, its simple....he's a great athlete....he will line up as a wr for iowa, no doubt about it....no way this guys a big ten qb.....The runs he makes from the qb position remind me of West Virginas qb although at the collegiate level, he won't be that much faster or stronger then his opponents, the teams he was playin looked like hs players 5-6 120 pds - anyones stats would look good!!! And his throws have very poor, mechanics were non-existant, not a qb at iowa. But, as a wideout, i think he could come in and compete for pt right away.

Please never mention Brad Banks as a qb with any thoughts of him really being the second best player in the nation - sorry his stats don't tell the story....Its simple, if ISU had a great offensive line like iowa's of Brad Banks era, all of them got drafted in the top 3 rounds, that is a awesome line....Thats how Iowa won 10 or 11 games, it was any of the skilled positions being great....The line was Great!!!! That's where iowa has really dropped off right now, their O line sucked....D-line was very good and thats what made your defense what it was.....Thats what i see in Chiz and staff, they're focusing on the Lines, if you have crappy lines, it dont matter whats around them.....

First...

I never understood why people let what some fans says get to them and have to "report" back. So what that some Hawk fan said "we would've been to a BCS bowl without injuries or arrests".

I dunno, the whole thing seems kinda silly to me - the he said, she said type of stuff.
Heres the thing. the guy was hyping up jake for next year to me, and im sorta scratching my head. my impression of him was not that good, but for sake of argument, im curious on account of all thier problems. All I could really say is that they played a share of underclassmen at WR this year that should benefit from this next season.

That Hawkeye fan has an overly meteoric opinion of the merit of his team. :twitcy:

Cyclones also could have won six more games with a total of 12 play changes also. We could have beat Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kent State, Toledo. Give me a couple more plays and we would have beat UNI. At 9-3, we would not have been BCS, but close. :skeptical:

without looking at Meyer's numbers, I'm guessing Jake's were just as good or bad

You forgot the blowup balloon of a practice facility next to Kinnick. Kirk wants to replace the balloon with something more like the Clones one. I was in IC yesterday on business and it does look a little sad. The parking situation at the Universit Hoispital is really bad during a football game...

So add, who has the best practice facilities?
