The silencing of the lard threads makes me wonder if the clintons are not moderators here. Actually I probably shouldn't have even posted in here. I'm going to go lock my doors

Let's not get another Lard thread shut down

In all seriousness why haven't we heard anything from anyone? Nothing from the staff nothing from our usual media and nothing from the board internet investigators here? And nothing on his Twitter. What's the big mystery? If he doesn't come it's not like he would be the first to not make grades.

There has been some sort of blackout on Lard info. Had a few threads/questions and they seem to disappear. Strange deal. His Twitter doesn't say one way or the other, but I'm assuming he isn't going to be here this fall until someone actually spots him on campus or he shows up in the directory.

It's all a little strange but Small seems to keep info tight, so who knows.

You would think there would be some sort of official announcement soon, one way or another.

It would be nice to have him. Looks like he has a ton of upside potential given his recruiting and rankings before he slipped under the radar. I doubt he would affect next year very much, but going forward... I've heard Coach Small is a very good teacher of the game, particularly with the posts. I'd love to see what he could do with some time and talent.

Lard would be his first project that could bear some fruit.

We have a super-duper "old" team for next year though...

Morris, Mitrou-Long, Thomas, Burton, Holden = likely starters, all seniors
Jackson, Weiler-Babb, Bowie = likely bench, JUCO junior, RS-sophomore, grad-senior

...so I doubt he was going to see the court all that much.

After that, though, the youth movement/rebuild begins.

If there is some moratorium on discussing him (rather than just a few threads that went off the rails and got toxic on relatively unrelated matters), I would like to know. Mods, feel free to warm me/us about that. If not, though, some news sometime soon would be nice.

Yeah, I agree that if we lose Lard, it only impacts the future. Not make or break, but with losing so many players, it would be nice to have him for next year. The chances of us landing someone with more upside with 6-7 incoming players can't be high.

Agreed, with this years "vet roster" there won't be a lot of playing time available for the incoming freshman. Having the young guys practice and play against the Big 12 vets and learn their habits is essential to preparing them to take over next year will be essential to take over their roles with the graduation of the seniors. Getting a full year of Lard and Carter in the system and coaching under Small and Prohm will be an important development this year for those roles. BTW I am under the assumption Lard will be on campus unless I hear/read otherwise.
