Our string of made threes in games have really exploited our offense when the three's stop falling. Next game if we shoot a three that person should runs line drills:sad: Maybe that will teach them to take the ball inside and only rely on a three when it is the last resort. Very Frustrating.

How about a lineup with Hamilton at the 5 and Brackins at the 4, and allow Brackins to play a natural in and out game? Just doesn't seem that Brackins is a natural post man...

Brackins has really good post moves. He was just trying to do them from 15ft out instead of at the block like normal.

Agree. But that is our entire offense. I think McD thought he could import his MVC style of play to the Big 12 and we are seeing how well that is working out.

Brackins has done nothing from the perimeter outside of the Baylor game last year. He shoots the ball everytime he touches it. The less he touches it when he's off the block the better.

This isn't the first time he's pulled crap like that. He did the same thing against UNI, but he also had good position a lot of the time against UNI. If he didn't force **** in that game, he would have shot 80% from the field.

Next year we'll win in Ames by 20 ish

Because they return more than we do?

Brackins needs to look across the floor and see how much a little strength will help and bust arse in the weight room, seriously.

We can't stop dribble penetration to save our lives

Rebounding is terrible...terrible...

How many times were we late on entry passes?

Alot of these things are coaching issues... Does anyone else notice that our assistant coaches don't do a whole lot? Other teams assistants as well as LE's and Waynes were all over, coaching in time outs, on the bench, during play, ours just sit and watch Greg...

to make things worse, I spent alot of time and energy converting my wife (from eastern Iowa) to a Cyclone fan... She is having serious doubts about her conversion...

What a day and night! CB got taken to the cleaners tonight and he got worse as the game went on. I wish we had players that have Pete's fortitude. Coaching is suspect. Third year for Mac and second for Licklider. Licklider made him look like a juco coach. Frustration with Chizek too. We paid more and more money for the lasst two years and got crap and now he is crapping on us with prime recruiting time upon us. No more extra money for Pollard and his wiz kids from me.

It's really alarming to me that we can't seem to keep any guards in front of us defensively, and our big guys are absolutely lost on help defense in those situations. On the offensive side, we can't get to the basket at all. The proof is in the free throw disparity of the last two games.

We were down two at halftime, and I thought we were actually playing well with the exception of Brackins' offensive retardation. In the second half, Iowa started on a 25-4 run. That screams getting out-coached.

The one good thing I took from tonight is Buckley.

Bad defense. Bad offense. Bad fundamentally. Yikes.

On the bright side, I don't think anybody on Iowa's team including Lickliter makes me want to puke for the first time in, well, ever.

But is this a good thing?

In all seriousness, I do like Lickliter. Give it a few years, though.

Anyone know anything about Gmac's philosophy about strength and conditioning? Or about the S&C coach for BB? I noticed during the Drake game, most of their guys looked much stronger. Didn't see tonight but am guessing the same. We don't seem strong enough towards the end of the game.

Agree. If there was one good thing I saw tonight is that Buck deserves a little more PT.

Brackins is a Rasheed Wallace type of player. You can just tell he wants to be on the perimeter and dislikes the inside contact. It will be a college career-long struggle to get him to be a good inside player. If I were a post defender, I would just let him go left all day. He can't hit a shot going to his left...he's awfully easy to defend in the post.

25-4 run on the road. Sorry, I tuned out, did ISU call a single timeout during that entire stretch? Not that it would have mattered mind you.
