Alright, the "Dating in the Dark" thread sparked my mind on this subject. Has anyone ever participated in an ISU Speed Dating event??

I have not. I had just always wondered what that was like and if people actually show up for it.

Anyone have any stories to share from such an event?

I think a University would be the second worst possible place to use this type of thing.

Right after an HIV clinic.

Yeah, but I figured that people must be showing up for it since I have received an e-mail every year about this before Valentine's Day.

I went to one two years ago and it was a lot of fun. They filled up all the slots (therefore it was a 50-50 ratio) and ran it really smoothly. I wound up with info for a few different girls, but opted not contact any of them since I wasn't really looking at the time; just wanted to see how the speed dating thing worked. (Tried going to a second one last year, but it was actually full before I even got there.)

If you're looking for a date, and you're curious about the event, I say do it.

When Freddy Court tried it last year they sent out about 10 e-mails to everyone asking for more guys to sign up. Apparently a ton of girls were interested, and no guys showed interest (info from someone who was on the community council).

Makes me wonder if those girls were single for a reason...

I've found a good share of awesome single girls at ISU. In fact, I plan on lowering that count by one within a couple weeks!

I would say that the selection of girls at ISU is better than the selection of guys, regardless of which way you swing.
