Bowl Mania show on ESPN

ESPN's Jesse Palmer put the Insight Bowl as his absolute dead last bowl game as far as confidence in which team will win. In his 20 seconds of talking about the game, the only thing he mentioned about ISU is our defense giving up 414 yards per game for the 99th best team in that category this year. Seriously, nothing about Rhoads? Nothing about an exciting season after the trash that we watched for the last few years? I know that 6-6 doesn't look good on paper but he literally didn't say anything at all about ISU.

Anyone else catch this tonight?

OMG!!! It's the end of the world!!! ESPN didn't show the locker room speech in its Bowl Mania special!!! Never mind this wasn't a season-in-review show, it's further proof that ESPN persecutes ISU!!!

Dude, get a grip...

ARGH for a few reasons:

1. You beat my thread
2. Jesse Palmer failed to say ANYTHING about ISU except that our defense is ranked #99 in yards per game with giving up 414 yards
3. I wasted my last hour and a half watching that ******** in the hopes that #2 wouldn't happen

Ha, I think my post got tossed to the wayside since I posted it midmove.

Anyway, they had an hour to talk about 68 teams. Our bowl is the only one this post-season pitting 2 6-6 teams against each other.

There are plenty more interesting storylines this post-season. This is not a dig on our program by ESPN

Good or Bad - he said it was down to a coin flip between ISU and Minn. If he's right should make for a great game. I'm confident the Cyclones will win this one.

No mention of Rhoads

How could they not mention Rhoads as the big difference?

I was in Minnesota last week and the papers were talking about Brewster maybe going to Kansas. His AD wouldn't even say that he wanted to keep him. All he said was that we will wait to see. No confidence that his coach would stay. Nothing positive to say about him.

Just talking about Rhoads would have made some nice TV.

i watched this entire 2 1/2 hour show to see their thoughts on the ISU game and it was pretty much the very last game they discussed. Not to mention it was the least confident game and they didn't choose us. Consider that a waste of my time. Time to watch Finding Nemo.

THIS THREAD is completely asinine. Fans are worrying about what the pundits are predicting about the game.....Why don't we have more informative threads such as if Eric Decker is going to play, how good is Minnesota's D or was SDSU game any indication of how good Minnesota actually is...Its threads like these that ruin this site...

I now have zero confidence in Jesse Palmer's game predicting skills and college football knowledge.

Then ignore it. Thought I'd give people a chance..keyword chance..to see them talk about the game considering it was one of the last 2 picks.

..................................Its a forum......

How do you ruin a forum about Iowa State when somebody posts something about Iowa State, especially when its about them being on TV?? You obviously don't get the purpose of a forum.

Would have been nice to see some more love for ISU, but let's be honest...we were 6-6 and did have a really bad defense. Do we really deserve to have ESPN talking us up?

I understand the disappointment of some posters here, but don't really fault ESPN in their coverage...there are bigger bowl games and bigger stories to talk about.

Not trying to be a downer...just trying to be realistic in my expectations of the national press...

All I want is for the 3 seconds ESPN talks about Iowa State football once every eon or so to be positive since the program is headed in a positive direction. I understand Iowa State isn't a Big 12 title contender (yet), but the old bottom of the barrel team of a major conference isn't there any more.

Remember the Nebraska game? All ESPN talked about was how the Huskers choked, almost as if there wasn't even another team there. The most positive thing about Iowa State they mentioned was that it was the first time we won at Memorial Stadium in 32 years. Nothing about how Iowa State capitalized right away, nothing about the fake, nothing about holding the ball and running the clock for 7:30 in one possession.

Again, I don't want a 20 minute discussion praising Iowa State, I just want somebody at ESPN to say, "Hey, these guys are doing something different now. You might want to watch out for them in the near future."
