We better do a good cover up job on this. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like a squawk style coverup was in the makings. Only that the 'victim' wasn't nearly as interested in sweeping this under the rug, or as interested as our coaches were.

Memo to those who think this only happens in Iowa City. Coaches look out for their players at every school, and every school has players that get into trouble.......

Duh!
Where did you hear this? BTW, those voices you hear in your head probably shouldn't count as reliable sources.

Unless you have proven facts, you just did a first class slander job on the coaching staff...

I couldn't agree with jbhtexas more. It was said *very* early on a hawkeye message board and people have started to repeat it. Good grief people, have first-hand knowledge before post *%&$ like this.

Choose the spread of your choice but a certain player is toast. The real huddle-up regards other 'issues' which will become public.

Sorry...does "the real huddle-up" = the real question or concern? Also, by "issues" do you mean with Sims or he and other players?

I just assume not give out names. But I wouldn't post it if I wasn't confident in the reliability. Feel free to disregard my info if you choose to.

This belongs in the "screwed up sayings" thread.

The saying is "I'd just as soon" not "I just assume" unless you were trying to say something like "I just assume it's best that I not give out names." Think of it in terms of a phrase like "I'd sooner do x than y." So when some is telling you "HEY NAME NAMES YOU JERK" you will respond with "If it's all the same to you, I would just as soon not name any names."

its true,,, have two drinks at a resturant and drive home... prob over the limit if dinner is less then 120 minutes... 1 drink per hour or you are over.
Anything to back this up? You're painting with a REALLY broad brush. 2 drinks are going to have a much different effect on me (6'2" 205) than a female counterpart (5'8" 130). She may very well be drunk, they'd have to be strong drinks for me to be drunk. 2 glasses of wine is going to have little to no effect. 2 beers? Nothing. 2 Long Islands? Yeah, probably drunk.

Who is this certain player that is toast without the legal system happening.

So just because "everyone has done it" an OWI is minor?!?!? :skeptical: Most things that "nearly everyone most normal people know" do not have the capacity to injure, maim, kill, destroy, etc.

Anytime any human being drives a vehicle it has the capacity to "injure, maim, kill, destroy, etc." Most normal people, at some point in their life, have had a few drinks and drove home safely, without putting others in danger. Thats just reality.

The idea that every time anyone who is over the legal limit drives anywhere they are completely out of control, all over the road and endangering the lives of others is simply not true. Most of us have had a few and drove, probably illegally, but safely. That was my point, but I doubt you can see it from your high horse.
