A lot of “well actually” grumps in here today. You provided statistics from the king of college football statistics and that wasn’t enough.
I mean, come on, can we not acknowledge that the stat kings are lacking a little context here?

Post 30 and it was twisted from there.
Yeah, I don't think it's overstated given the context of this team/roster/program/Connelly's reputation. There aren't many asterisks attached to our returning production stat, and it's a stat that Connelly takes very seriously. Much more seriously than whatever PFF puts out for social media engagement.

I'll always have faith in our defense. I like our offensive weapons. Until we see different the Oline will be in prove it mode.

I just went back and looked at every final playoff rankings. Each year besides 2 the Big 12 would have had 2. Many future Big 12 teams also sprinkled in that would offset the loss of OuT.

2014: 5) Baylor 6) TCU
2015: 4) Oklahoma 11) TCU
2016: 7) Oklahoma 12) Oklahoma State
2017: 2) Oklahoma
2018: 4) Oklahoma
2019: 4) Oklahoma 7) Baylor
2020: 6) Oklahoma 10) Iowa State
2021: 7) Baylor 9) Oklahoma Stste
2022: 3) TCU 9) Kansas State
2023: 3) Texas 12) Oklahoma

Future Big 12
2014: 10) Arizona
2016: 10) Colorado
2017: 12) UCF
2018: 8) UCF
2019: 11) Utah
2020: 8) Cincinnati
2021: 4) Cincinnati 11) Utah
2022: 8) Utah
I agree that this is promising... I looked this up a few years ago when they initially started talking about the 12 team playoff. I think the issue will be the years where you only see OU or OU/tex. I understand that 1 team will make it and that there are new B12 teams that will help offset that a bit. My concern is that with all of the teams that were added to the b10/sec, and the fact that there are now 12 teams that will make the playoff, we may start to see even more b10/sec bias. I think we have a shot to get 2 but I'm afraid it won't be as common as it appears it should be based on historic rankings.

Don't kid yourself, they will do everything they can to squash the Big 12 getting multiple bids and push their 4 schools into the playoffs.

I can't wait to see 9-3 Bama go in over a 10 win team from about any conference.
