It becomes a wake up call when you hear stories like this. We (I) tend to think that these kids live a pampered life and play for our entertainment. Reality is they're 18-20 year old kids and some have real issues. As a guy who couldn't stand baylor (for no reason other than they're baylor) I now really hope he succeeds.

My wife's cousin has had a glass eye since he was very young (he is now 40yo). I was in the same high school as he was and, besides, not tracking quite as well as his good eye, you would never know it. Played BB with him too...

My understanding is that he still has his real eye, it just doesn't work. If you watch at the end of the video it looks like he just puts in a large contact lens that makes it look normal.

On the road...
17 posts in and no one has posted the Sloth from Goonies pic comparison yet? I'm disappointed.

Probably because no one that has posted other than you is a giant jack ***. Why the hell would we have the need to belittle someone? Grow up.

Very impressed with him. I have a family member with only one eye and although you do compensate and learn to adjust, that doesn't make it less impressive for anyone to achieve.

The only good thing about having single eye vision is you don't have to waste any money on extra ticket prices for 3D movies.

I would think losing about a third of your field of vision would be just as big a deal as depth perception, maybe more so. Your brain can use visual cues to still provide depth perception with one eye, but there is no way for it to fill in the missing peripheral vision.

That's inspiring. I admire people who overcome adversity like that. It can't be easy.
